The optics on the telescope are really good. I was able to see planets really clear. The problems I had were with the software and taking pictures. Even though this is suppose to make finding stars easier, I found it to be unreliable and cumbersome.
Great buy! I really like it. It's small and light enough to easily set up and move around. Very good build quality. Included eyepiece is very good as is the really nice tripod. GoTo works well and the hand controller has a USB port for upgrades.
Good first scope. It is still a lot of money but I am sure it will be worth it. I live just 20 miles from Manhattan and still within the 5 boroughs. Had no problem seeing stars the night I purchased the scope. Took some pictures of the moon with it and the images were very sharp.
This is my first scope and I bought it to take to the national parks out west. In retrospect, I think the 5 inch is probably abut as portable, but I'm happy with the 4 too. It is easy to set up and operate. The focus nob rubber isn't tight, and affects the focusing, but otherwise a great scope.
Great scope, easy to use, good bang for the buck. We use ours with the Skyportal WiFi module and enjoy it everytime we get it out. Our kids 4, 6, 8, 10 years love to get it out and look at the sky.
I bought this for casual observing and to get my kids interested in astronomy. It fits the bill perfectly. Super compact, easy to transport and set up, and easy to get observing soon after setup. Very solidly built. Better optics than the 3-in refractor I owned previously.
I only just bought this scope at the weekend online and Wex delivered prompty in less than 48hrs which I was really impressed, so thank you Wex good job.Lovely scope, I could see that the optics in the eye piece were first class (as you would expect from Celestron) when doing some day light distant...
Durable, Great Features, Great Picture Quality, Simple Controls
eats batteries get a power supply or powerTank, many distant nebula, not captured
I have been using a celestron evolution 8 telescope with a separate wedge since 3 years. Ive had two main issues with that scope.Firstly its heavy and bulky. together with wedge, it weights 27 kgs (60 lbs).
