The scope is easy to set up, and the tripod is very handy given is is 25x to 75x zoom. Once you get used to the narrow field of view it is excellent during day or night and while to focussing job is challenging some times the fine adjustment knobs make it much easier to find the spot or object you...

The Celestron Mini Mak was purchased primarily for bird watching on wetlands and beaches. I am astonished by its performance to date, using mostly the 25x to 50x portion of its zoom range. Have now added a 40mm Celestron Plossl eyepiece to give an 18x magnification for close work in the garden.

This is my first spotting scope and it will be used primarily for watching birds and wildlife with occasional use at the rifle range. It arrived in a very timely manner considering it was ordered over the Christmas period and was very well packed and addressed.

I bought this to check the surf from my balcony and view the wildlife around my house. Works perfect and is easy to use. The national park headland I view for the surf and wild life is about 2km away, this scope dials in on trees and I can spot birds on the highest magnification.

This scope is good value for money. It is clear with good magnification, is lightweight & the tripod is reasonably sturdy. I use it for range work & it is well suited for this job. if you want to carry it into the mountains for hunting perhaps a stronger allow tripod may be an advantage.

Very pleased with this scope. I read a lot of reviews before ordering and I've been very happy with it. Great views of the moon and was delighted to see Jupiter's four moons and lines on the surface (if you focus very carefully).

In comparison to my 30 year old Bushnell Spacemaster this was a huge disappointment. First and foremost, terrestrial images are flat with poor contrast making it hard to see details. The eyepiece has no eye relief and poor field of view making use with eyeglasses very difficult.

Great at 25, 50 & 100yds. At 200 yds, I can see 30 cal rifle holes pretty good, but 22 holes in the black are hard to see. Appears well made and functions great!

Very solid buy for the money. Tried it at 50 and 100 yards on a clear and sunny day. Very clear picture on lowest magnification (25x) at 50 yards, paper target hits from 223 are clearly visible. Clear picture on middle magnification (50x) at 100 yards, paper target hits from 223 are clearly visible.

You get what you pay for so for beginners, this would do fine. Using it for bird watching. If you expect better quality, then prepare to pay more for something higher-end.

I use this scope to view sea otters that are a couple of hundred feet off shore. I can see the otters well plus it is of a comfortable weight to be carrying around to different viewing areas. I had looked at a 80mm but it was significantly heavier and the 70mm views equally well as the 80.

This is a good brand, but a poor product. I tried this side-by-side with the Travel Scope 70 to figure out some of what's wrong. That scope has identical aperture but is refracting instead of reflecting. The mirror must be low quality, because the image is low-contrast and tinted clay-grey.

The C70 was purchased as a grab and go scope to be used when I didn't want to pull out my 102 mm mak or 80 mm short tube. Both are high quality scopes but heavy. The C70 weighs 2 lbs. and I mount it on a light weight photo tripod. Total package less than 5 lbs.
