Another great Canon product. I also have the Canon HF S20, a much more high-end Canon camcorder, but also substantially bigger.I bought this model as the form factor is small enough to fit comfortably in a cargo pocket (or wife's purse) without the bulk, but the Canon standard for high quality...
Great camera for the price. Been using it for home videos only so I can't comment on how it holds up in harsher settings. The zoom is nice and the size of the camera is great. If you're looking for a low cost video camera for every day use, this is a great option.
Size, ease of use, zoom
No external light for low light use
This is the first time I have bought a camera with a kit of various accessories. The accessories are all junk. The camera is fine, but from no on I will buy just the camera alone. You will end up replacing the junk accessories . Take the tripod for example. The legs are skinny & extremely wobbly.
Took this camera to Europe in the fall of 2017 and was extremely disappointed when it came to burning Blurays or AVCHDs. Unlike its competitors, Canon does not have software to do simple editing and then burning to HD discs.
I have 4 of these setup in assessment rooms in a medical research setting. Room are 10 x 10 with the research subject between 4-6 away from the camera. Each camera is hooked up to an Extron SMP-111 to digitally capture the assessment for research purposes.
I expected much better picture quality, no where near as good a picture quality than my old Moto Z cell phone.
Works pretty good for the price tag. I was debating between this and a Sony camera that was cheaper, but I'm glad I went with Canon. The Sony camera only had 60p or 60i. Anyone who knows the difference knows that 60i is, well, out of date. The canon doesn't record in interlace, thankfully.
Love the camcorder
Good product for amateurs who want an easy to use product of good quality. Easy to use.
I bought this camera for use with shooting local football games and creating highlight reels for the local high school. Since I wasn't going to be paid for the work I bought the equipment on as small of a budget as I could afford, but I didn't want to buy a crap camera either.
