The No product information for canon_135 is not a new lens. In fact it’s been in Canon’s lens lineup since 1996. What makes it an interesting lens is that it’s very sharp, very fast and it’s one of Canon’s least expensive “L” series lenses at a current street price under $1000 The EF 135/2L USM is...

Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM is a very solid lens with outstanding overall performance on both APS-C and full-frame cameras. Some vignetting with a full-frame body at wide open apertures and occasional purple fringing are things to be aware of here.

A lens of this nature is a reasonably specialised piece of kit. It’s speed, both light gathering and focussing, make it ideal for indoor sport and event work. It also scores highly if you want portraits with OOF backgrounds where the focal length is near perfect.

Fast and silent Autofocus, Simple operation, Good optical quality with nice OOF ‘Bokeh’

REASON FOR PURCHASE I use this purely for portraiture. I have a 50mm 1.2 and as much as I love that lens I did not want to use it for portraiture in order to go a little more telephoto and show less distortion. I considered 85mm because I have heard a lot of good things about that lens.

  • +

Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction

I have 8 L lenses, this might be my favorite. It's just amazingly sharp. I can't find any visible chromatic aberrations on my copy! I am super picky about sharpness.

I use this for weddings, instead of the 70-200 2.8. This lens is lighter, smaller, and faster. If you want to differentiate yourself just a bit, use this lens. The separation is stunning, the bokeh creamy.

Put this on your camera and let the magic begin. A serious lens whether you are a pro or amateur like me. If you can afford it you wont regret it.

Fast, light and sharp as heck. I love using this lens to cover the beam routines in gymnastics. the f2 vs f2.8 lets you drop a whole ISO stop cleaner, makes a HUGE difference in the quality of your pictures. The bokeh on a FF lens is so wonderful, it should be illegal.

  • +

Sharp sharp sharp, incredible bokeh, great value

135mm can be a little long if you don't have a varied collection

135 mm is not my most used prime. But every time I use this lens I am very happy :)

  • +

Maybe one of the best lenses Canon makes. Sharp, fast, very good build. Overall IQ out of this world.

  • -

Vignetting to much at F2.0 when use on FF.

I bought this lens for indoor dog sports with pretty poor lighting. My EF70-200 IS 2.8L zoom was just not fast enough and I was getting too much noise at the higher ISOs with my 40D. Upgraded to the 5D2 and with this lens I can use ISO 3200 without much noise at all.

    Fast, Sharp Focus
