The Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II Tilt-Shift Lens is, optically and physically , the highest quality 24mm Canon-mount lens I've reviewed to date. <Buyer's Remorse Protection> Owners of the not-much-older Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM Lens can rest assured that their 24mm lens is a match physically and...
As you may expect for a top of the range Canon lens, this optic delivers superb clarity and is packaged in a robustly built and well-designed body. The controls for applying lens adjustments are easy to adjust and overall this lens should more than satisfy the needs of anyone after a tilt-shift...

Expensive
Now it's not overly surprising that the lens is capable of providing a very high quality based on a neutral shift setting. But what about the extremes then ? There is, of course, a decrease in image quality when shifting the image frame towards the edges of the image circle.
Originally bought for the tilt novelty with only a marginal awareness of the shift attributes, this is now my favorite lens that I use to capture incredible distortion-free panoramas. I typically shoot landscapes and real estate, and this lens offers a range of view beyond anything I've seen.
One of my three "perfect" primes: 24TSE II, 50/1.2L, and 100L macro. This 24 TSE is probably the cherished lens of my collection. I got rid of the Zeiss ZE 21/2.8 after comparing to this 24 TSE II and finding it redundant as a focal length (great imaging though, but not better) and no movements.

Awesome lens, IQ is so good even for general photography without movements.

None
I agree - it is not your everyday lens, not even your every week lens. To be honest, if you do not have a need for it will quickly become your once-in-a-quite-long-long-while lens.

bit expensive
The best usage: a landscape with horizontal tilting for the better DOF. The agngle of the tilt is very small for the real architechture works. Miniatures - toys for no more than 10 pictures, after that you realize that it is not series.

Heavy
The tilt and shift work independantly of each other.A special screen could be used for focusing but, I use a Hoodman loupe and "live view" . You will need one of the two in bright sunlight.

learning curve
Amazing piece of glass Still learning to use it, but so far the results have been amazing. A must for architectural photography
This lens is great. Works just as I expected. I used the older version a few times and it is an improvement. It's nice to have some of the control back from my days using a view camera.
This lens is absolutely great for landscape and architectural shots. It requires a lot of thought and precision - definitely a tripod - but the work is just so much fun and the results are so rewarding. I have a few L lenses, but shooting with this is the most fun I've ever had in photography.
If you're interested in architecture, the 24mm TS-E II should be the first lens in your bag. This is my fifth L-lens, and my only regret is not purchasing it much sooner. Assuming this lens is being mounted to a body with a 36mm 24mm sensor, the angle of view is extremely versatile for building...
