Daunting is sitting down at the keyboard to attempt to do justice to a review of Canon's flagship flash, the Speedlite 600EX-RT. Few aspects of an image are as important as the lighting – arguably being second only to the subject and perhaps the composition?
Get this 600EX RT flash for multiple-flash pro event use where you have assistants running with you. If you don't want to use one of these flashes as the on-camera transmitter, use the Canon ST-E3-RT transmitter , but it lacks the infrared AF illuminator.
Canon is an all time famous brand for creative quite innovative flash technology. And yes, it is all new speedlight, 600EX RT truly works with the same machinery inside. Let?s check it out in detail to take out the best out of this tech-rich snapping and shooting tool.
I own multiple units of this and the original 600EX. This thing SLAYS the original 600 in terms of recycle time. When I rely on these for my wedding work it can absolutely make the difference between getting the shot and failure.
This flash is absolutely amazing. I owned a 580EX prior to purchasing this flash. It was an upgrade that was well worth it. The flash is very powerful and having the wireless capabilities built into the flash has changed the way I shoot.
Good Exposure performance, Superior build quality
This is one of the best speedlights I have ever owened. Built quality is extraordinary, light output is amazing. I recommend this unit for indoor /event photography.
Powerful, fast recycling
The battery charger that came with this is junk. It does not indicate when the batteries are charged. This means you need The battery charger is basically junk. It does not indicate when the batteries are charged. The bracket is a $16 item. The rest of the items are worth very little.
The radio system lets you easily control all your flashes from the camera with some using TTL and some on manual and even switch modes without having to touch the flash. It's just amazing.
Supports both radio and optical triggering, so if you have the 400EXII's you can slowly convert over without having to buy a radio transmitter on day one. Great power and good batteries will last for quite a while.
Use primarily for event and portrait photography. This flash works very well with my Canon systems (5D Mark 3 & 7D Mark 2). This is my 4th 600EX-RT flash. While other similar wireless flash systems may cost less, this flash is very easy to control using the internal menu system on my Canon camera...
Simply the best flash made by Canon and the right way to go for professional use. If your not making money off this unit you could step down a model but if your going to step up and start making money this is your model.
I use my Speedlite 600EX-RT for outdoor portraiture and indoor events and weddings. Great features and reliability.
The large print is excellent to see when out taking pictures. Easy to use and excellent quality.
Greater versatility in low light situations with power levels down to 128th power, More robust than previous models being better able to dissipate heat. This is a winner
