When the Canon PowerShot G7 X was released, it didn’t have much in the way of competition. Now, the idea of a pocketable camera furnished with a 1in or Micro Four Thirds sensor, together with raw shooting and plenty of manual control, is a bit less special – and if you’re happy with a...

- Responsive touchscreen, - Pleasing JPEGS straight out of the camera, - Sound AF system with effective focus tracking

- Lack of built-in viewfinder may discourage some people, - Soft results at wider focal lengths, - Video capture limited to full HD
The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II is a pricey pocket camera with image quality that goes toe-to-toe with much larger models.

No hot shoe or EVF. Edge softness at wide angle. Occasional autofocus misses. Doesn't support 4K video capture. Omits microphone input.
The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II is a well-designed enthusiast compact that's a pleasure to use. It offers a versatile focal range, very good image quality, a large buffer for continuous shooting and 1080/60p video capture.
I have had this camera for about 6 weeks and have taken approximately 1000 images with it. I bought it primarily as a travel camera I can take on short trips in situations where I do not want to take my DSLR kit. It has performed as advertised and exceeded some expectations.
I did a great deal of research before settling on the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II. This camera is great, it has all the features I needed plus some extras. The camera feels great to hold and is small enough to fit in a large pocket or coat.

None so far
I am a YouTube vlogger, and this is an amazing Point and Shoot Camera! I use many cameras: Canon VIXIA HF G40, Nikon D5200 (with a different lens and external mic), Nikon Coolpix S7000, Panasonic LUMIX DMC-ZS7 (Black), and more! But honestly, this is my favorite!
I have the G7X (mark I) and decided to buy the mark II. Here's what I don't read/hear often about the G7X mark II (compared to the mark I): Soft shutter . Compared to the mark I, the mark II has a quite significantly softer shutter button.
Just started using, so far so good
