Since mid/low priced cameras dont have external flash connectors any more, this unit provided an adequate source of the extra light needed for shots beyond eight or ten feet that the underpowered built in flash provides.
I have used this to get great shots that otherwise would have been in the dark. It covers a lot of space very well. The one drawback is that you have to power it down,i.e. use one of the lower settings, so that you don't get too much exposure for persons or objects close to you, but still want them...
Excellent supplemental flash for my Canon G7 X Mark II camera. While not the most sophisticated flash, it does provide additional lighting in large areas or to extend the flash range of the native built in flash.
Perfect for my ancient Canon ELPH520HS, and equally useful for my modern Sony RX-100mk III
It is compact, light and does the thing I need to take better photos in limited lighted areas at a greater distance.
The HF-DC2 is an improvement over the HF-DC1 which I have now owned for several years, about the only difference it that it comes with a diffuser, which the HF-DC1 did not. Also, it may not have the cloth pouch which was standard issue with the HF-DC-1.
great unit for compact cameras
