Canon Extender EF 2X III

The Canon EF 2x III Extender mounts between your Canon EOS Digital SLR and a compatible lens (primarily Canon L Series lenses), extending the focal length of the lens by a very noticeable 2x.

With my 7D MkII and my 70-200 L 2.8 IS II, I can get to 400mm. I ran the Dot Tune calibrations on my 70-200 with and without the 2x II and the results are I need ZERO micro focus adjustment.

I acquired this extender to add length to my new 100-400mm L MII lens. I use it on my 7D. I knew from reading my manuals that AF is not possible so that is not an issue as I educated myself in this regard.But what images, I really cannot find fault with the image quality of this extender.

This is a superb extender which works flawlessly with the Canon prime telephoto and super telephoto lenses. I bought it to supplement my Canon 300 mm f/2.8 IS II lens to give me an effective 600 mm f/5.6.

Tested this like 5 weeks ago. The Extender 2x III performs better on my 70-200L IS Mk2 than on the Mk1. There is a noticable difference in AF and IQ. I had them side by side. The Extender 2x III gave no improvement on the 70-200L IS Mk1 over the Extender 2x II. I got the Extender 2x III in the end.

I definitely enjoy using the extender for my lenses when I can't get the reach on their specifications. I would only want the extender to have auto focus for all my lenses. The 100-400mm won't AF using the extender but the 70-200 f2.8 does.

Superb extension and AF performance

Bought this extender to take advantage of my EF 70-200 mk II IS L lens for backyard bird photography. I had always been looking at making this purchase and after I picked up the 70-200 it was an absolute must. Great combo.
