Beginner with great experience
I just bought my t7. I've been playing with it as a beginner and I've gotten a hang of the camera menus pretty quickly and easily. The autofocus is a bit slow but if you learned how to shoot in manual mode like me then the autofocus probably wont bother you so much because you wont be really using it often. But it has this cool little effect, the way it beeps and targets within the viewfinder before it shoots is pretty cool ;) kinda like im targeting and shooting out of a tank (Canon) lol Extremely happy and so excited to start my photography business with this little beast. Thank you Canon for making such an amazing entry level tool that I can have confidence in shooting!

Great for Beginners
I have been using my iPhone 7plus to take very nice photos, but I wanted to be more creative with better lenses and the ability to take some professional looking shots. Therefore, I purchased this entry level camera with a 18mm to 135mm lens. It is perfect for my needs. The camera takes beautiful photos and is easy to hold. There are a lot of online videos one can watch to teach the various settings which can be intimidating. But the key is practice. Keep shooting. I recommend this camera for someone wanting to learn photography.

If you are just getting into photography, this is an AWESOME camera to start with. It is a very affordable camera that uses lenses that the expensive cameras use. If you buy this camera, once you get used to it and very comfortable with it, you can upgrade to a nice prime lens to up your game. The lens that you buy can then be used on another canon camera you later may buy (exept the EOS R series). After all this is a very great camera to start your photography journey on.

Great for beginners, but can be outgrown quickly.
I purchased this as my very first DSLR camera to see if photography would be something that interested me. I never used the different modes and dived straight into manual usage. Now that I have the hang of manual mode (one week in), I feel like I need an upgrade or at least a nicer lens. I recommend this body as an entry level camera and would suggest getting the 50mm x 1.8 (or 1.4 if you can afford it). Eventually, I hope to get the Canon Mark D IV and the 50mm x 1.2 lens but that’s simply not in my budget at the moment.

Still learning and having fun
I replaced an old Rebel XT that took great pictures albeit at 6Mp. Quality was still better than my cell phone at 12Mp. I already had the standard 15-55mm lens and a 400mm telephoto. Haven’t ventured out of automatic settings yet. I also have difficulty using the viewer. The shot seems delayed. Maybe someone can tell me what I am doing wrong. It has worked flawlessly. I put a 128GB sd chip in and I should be able to take over 10,000 pictures with no worry. I guess having “an eye” is not something easy to learn. I would recommend this for anyone who would like a less grainy long distance shot. Optical zoom is 100 times better than digital. Going on 17 years as a Canon owner (laser printer also). I am anxious to see what I can scrounge out of our upcoming European vacation.

Decent entry level camera, but has a huge flaw
My wife bought me this as a Father’s Day gift in 2020. As the intensity of my hobby grew I started to purchase new lenses, filters, and accessories. One accessory was a “universal” speed light. Unbeknownst to me the Rebel t7 was designed to work with ONLY cannon flashes. No other camera maker does this. This small but extremely frustrating flaw is a major reason why my future cameras we not be Cannons. I’ll probably go with Sony for my future purchases. I am disappointed with Cannon and hope other potential customers are made aware of this intentional design flaw prior to making a purchase.

Great camera for beginners and amateurs.
Bought a month ago. Love it. I bought the refurbished camera and used the special deal to buy the 70-300mm zoom lens. I love the presets and the auto-focus. I am a total amateur and have used the presets to take some pretty good pictures. If I ever want to enter my own settings I can do so. This is a great camera for amateur photographers.

Best Camera I have ever had!
I have owned dozens of Canon Cameras from professional film ones then pocket digital point and shoot. I consider myself a semi professional and love this camera. It does everything from manual settings to totally automatic. The pictures are great, the down load is a breeze. It is so simple to operate, it took me a few minutes to figure it out. The owners manual is very clear and simple to follow. The lens is perfect for most photos but I will be getting the longer zoom lens in the near future.
