The Canon EOS Rebel T6i D-SLR omits some of the features found in its fraternal twin, the T6s, but costs less. While the T6i is no slouch, if you can afford it, spend the extra $100 on the T6s.

  • +

19-point cross-type AF system. 5fps continuous shooting. 24-megapixel image sensor. Vari-angle touch LCD. Smooth video autofocus. Wi-Fi.

  • -

Pentamirror viewfinder. Limited buffer when shooting Raw. Full HD video tops out at 30fps.

There’s a lot to like about the 750D’s simple layout and controls. There are more than enough pixels on the chip to produce prints up to A2 size, the autofocus both in and out of live view is fast and responsive and the vari-angle touchscreen is absolutely superb.

  • +

Fast AF system; Good handling; Superb touchscreen; 3.5mm mic port; +/-5EV Exposure Compensation; Built-in Wi-fi/NFC; EOS companion app

  • -

Dynamic range isn’t as impressive as its APS-C competitors; No weather sealing; Kit lens has a predominately plastic finish; Expensive

The Rebel T6i brings resolution and low-light performance in line with its 2015 peers. The 19-point, all cross-type AF system is a welcome upgrade to the line, but is limited in its coverage and isn't good at following subjects moving around the frame.

  • +

24.2MP sensor with low light performance similar to peers, 19-point, all cross-type AF system, Hybrid AF with phase detect in live view, 3" articulating touch screen, Optical off-board flash control, Wi-Fi with NFC, Flicker detection

  • -

Practically impossible to focus on moving subjects in live view, Limited, low-density AF point coverage across the frame, Less sophisticated subject tracking in viewfinder shooting than many cameras, Dynamic range still not as good as class leaders, Unsophisticated Auto-ISO system with no exposure...

One feature that 750D lacks in comparison with the 760D is an electronic level. On the 760D this can be displayed on the screen on the back of the camera, or in the viewfinder, to help keep horizons level.

  • +

    24Mp APS-C format sensor, Great touch-screen and button/dial control combination, Wi-Fi and NFC built-in, Vari-angle screen

  • -

Can't quite match the D5500 for detail resolution, Viewfinder only covers 95% of the scene, Needs a quicker route to setting AF point

The T6i and T6s capture really fine photos and acceptable videos. Photography continues to be a Rebel strongpoint, but video could be better. The new Rebels are more evolutionary models than anything radically different from the T5i. Still, these are very good cameras and should sell well.

These models offer nearly identical core features, which include the highest resolution image sensor found on an APS-C EOS model, at 24.2-megapixels. Other shared specifications are a DIGIC 6 image processor, their Hybrid CMOS AF III system with 19 cross-type AF points, full 1080/30p HD video...

Very good image quality, 24.2-megapixels of resolution greatly exceeds this camera's predecessor, Offers both RAW and JPEG image formats, Minimal noise in low and mid-ISO settings, Fast performance in Viewfinder mode, Includes DIGIC 6 image processor, which is improvement over predecessor, 19...

The Canon Rebel T6s and T6i are based on the same camera design: Both use an APS-C sized sensor (Canon's “APS-C” with 22.9 x 14.9 mm) with a resolution of 24MP. They also use the same image processor, the DIGIC 6. However, there are some design differences.

The Canon EOS Rebel T6i/750D continues the line's tradition of being the crowd-pleasing choice for family photographers.

  • +

The T6i performs much better than the models that preceded it and the design remains streamlined and functional.

  • -

Image quality and autofocus don't fare as well as they should in very low light.

The Canon EOS 750D is a neatly crafted DSLR in the entry segment that's made for the budding photographer buying his/her very first DSLR. While the dynamic range in photographs is compromised, its brilliant viewfinder, ease of usage, and overall competence make up for the 750D’s limitation.

I have only had this camera about 2 months, but so far, so good. I took a camera class to get to know my camera and what it can do, but have not had much of a chance to use it yet.

Haven't come across any yet, but it is still early

After reading review after review of so many cameras, I decided to go to a newer series in the Rebel EOS. I've used a Canon Powershot in my life before, but never got big into the big bodies ("the EOS DSLR").

So far I love my new camera! Considering that I have barely skimmed the manual I am surprised how easy to use this camera is. It takes beautiful photos of close ups and fast moving animals. I am really glad I made the switch.

This camera with 24.2 Mps is what I have been waiting for. Know how in American folklore blondes have great looks outside, but not many brains inside? This Canon tore that to pieces. A great feeling body outside and brains inside as well. Loved my T3i, but left her for the sister T6i
