The EOS R5 is Canon’s best overall camera for stills photography, out-performing and out-featuring pretty much every model its released to date. Pro sports and wildlife specialists may find reasons to prefer the 1Dx III - such as its larger battery, optical viewfinder being preferable in some...
It has been five years since Canon introduced a camera that I wanted in my kit more than the Canon EOS 5Ds R . With the incredibly feature-filled EOS R5, Canon appears to have held nothing back, and many thousands of frames later, I'm certain that this is the camera I've been waiting for.
As a stills camera, the Canon EOS R5 is simply Canon's finest product ever. It’s the perfect amalgamation of the EOS R’s form, the EOS 5D’s function, and the professional-grade autofocus of the EOS-1D X.

Pristine image quality, Best AF on the market, Best full-frame IBIS, 8K video is astounding, Lightning-fast burst

Recording limitations, Standard 4K is just okay
The Canon EOS R5 is shaping up to be the game-changing mirrorless camera we hoped it would be. A true hybrid that's just as powerful for video as for stills, it will be a seriously tempting option for everyone from landscape shooters to pro videographers.

Tried and tested form factor, Strong set of video features, Improved battery life, Promising IBIS system

Not cheap, Dual memory cards will require investment, Recording limits for video shooting
Amateur Photographer recently had the chance to inspect the new Canon EOS R5 in the flesh
I just purchased the R5 and tested it against my new 1DX MKIII. No question that the R5 is a superior camera especially when you take into account the new RF mount Lenses and the lightweight and portability of the R5. I find I take it out far more often than I have ever have a EOS-1DX body.

Amazing Auto Focus, increased frames per second is a massive increase from the EOS R.

The confusion over possible overheating in higher resolutions. It would be great to clear guidance from Canon and have updated firmware to resolve or improve this.
My name is Martin I am 56 and have been a serious photographer since I was 14.For the past 30 years I have used Canon EOS Film SLR, then the DSLR and have now bought an R5.My previous cameras were the 5D Mk III and 5D Mk IV and I normally have a battery grip.
