The little brother of the C300 and C500, the C100 puts out similar images to its bigger, higher end siblings. It’s well-built, lightweight, and has many of the functions one has come to expect from Canon.
A hybrid—combining some of the advantages of DSLRs with more of a video camera form factor.
Despite being the baby of the range, the Canon EOS Cinema C100 is still a pretty expensive camera, now that some professional options cost £2,000 or less. There has rightly been some consternation about this expressed via online forums.

Fantastic image quality, Compatible with Canon EF lenses, Professional-grade audio connectivity

Still relatively expensive, Shoulder use requires extra attachment, No 50p, 60p or high-speed shooting
The Canon C100 is a little beyond our usual consumer scope, as it steps over the line into professional video kit - despite being the cheapest model in Canon's C-range lineup. Still, it's an intriguing device for anyone interested in shooting video and it shows the way forward not just for video...
Canon c100 is the worst camera i worked with. The noise is blue.. the image has artefacts and noise .. even at native iso of 850. The codec is bad.. do you a favor and buy an external recorder.. or another camera. Canon c100 was the worst deal of my life. First and last canon product i ever buy.
Great Camera.. but.. the codec... OMG.. the codec is awful... can't grade it.. can't do anything with it.. i am so disappointed on canon.. and this camera.. first canon camera.. and the last one..
I bought this camera as a step up from the GH4, yes a step up despite its not so great tech specs.

I was either going to go for the A7S series or the C100 and I'm glad I went with Canons offering, the image straight out of the camera is beautifully organic and presents an almost film like...

Durable, Great Features, Great Picture Quality, Lightweight, Simple Controls
A great work horse overall, very ergonomic compared to everything else I've worked with but severely crippled by the ridiculous AVCHD codec (24mbps) and lack of an SDI output. The image pretty much falls apart in post if you try and do a proper grade and this forces you into "a what you see is what...
Great for using on the hoof, great picture but not broadcast quality! Spend a little more on a Atomos Ninja and your in business.

Great Features, Great Picture Quality, Lightweight
I have just purchased the most expensive piece of equipment I have for my Real Estate Photography and Videography business.I do walkthrough videos and have to move from bright to dark areas/rooms.
Canon please give us auto-ISO. To be frank, I find its lack unacceptable. As a weddings & events ENG professional, this tool is exceedingly important to have for one critical reason: transitioning between different lighting scenarios (e.g., going in/out doors).
You can read all about the features in the other reviews. This is just a comment on the solutions for the three gripes that everyone complains about.1. Slow motion. Switch the camera to 60i or 50i and then with two clicks in your edit suite you have slow motion!

nothing that can't be overcome.
4k isn't here yet. 99% of the jobs I do don't require it. This camera has a great image (upgradable to 4:2:2 with atomos ninja 2), built in ND filters, focus peaking, waveforms, wonderful sharpness, canon log, etc. In short - it is a camcorder.
