I purchased this after years of filming with DSLRs (7D Mark ii and EOS R) Even though you can get incredible footage with those, theres something special about the way the C100 processes video. Taking footage side by side just looks so much more cinematic on the C100.
I've been using the C100 for several years now, it's been a great camera for me and has worked well in a lot of varying situations. It definitely isn't perfect though, and i've been among the many voices throwing ideas at canon.
I used to use C100's when I was in film school, so when it was time to upgrade our church's video production I knew exactly what camera I'd be looking at.An affordable entry into cinema cameras that gives you an excellent dynamic range and the typical Canon color profile.
Good image produced by Canon, definitely has the skin correct unlike sony which has an off skintone
The majority of our work currently is wedding and corporate videography, and this camera is perfect for what we need. We also own a C100 mark i and the mark ii, in my opinion, blows it out of the water. Crystal clear image with the 24-105, although I do wish it was an f2.8 rather than f4.
great camera, only downside is that hard to work with cinema raw light.
After around 2 years with this camera, I must say it has been a joy to use. I've shot weddings, commercials, corporate video, and it has not once let me down. With its top notch ergonomics, and crystal clear picture quality, you just can't go wrong!
Loved the camera - will be posting a full review soon!
I've had the C100 Mark II for two years and it's the best camera I've ever used. Never had a single software glitch or hardware malfunction. I own a C200, and while it's superior when shooting high-end 12-bit and 4K projects, the C100 Mark II is a far more user-friendly and reliable camera.
I moved from a EOS 7D camera to the Canon EOS C100 Mark II and I'm quite impressed. I was hoping to achieve a more cinematic look with my shoots and all the features live up to the hype. It's very easy to learn and use.
