It does exactly what I need, allow me to use some EF glass with my R5 and R6. I bought the Control Ring version, because I didn't know I would regret not having it. The issue I have found it I am not using the ring. It's in a different place for each lens and this ring, so that means avoiding it.
The mount and electronics is the main function and that all is just as it should be perfect. I chose this adapter for the control ring. It allows one to set a camera function to a simple location for quick changes. EF glass works perfect.
If you want to use your EF lenses with an RF camera this control ring with let you have the EF lenses with no loss of functionality. As of writing this review my biggest problems are not with the product but with Canon itself, control ring adapter stock as of writing is VERY low and this product is...
The adapter is an essential component to the R system. I presume all of the available adapters work seamlessly with EF lenses but the control ring version, a step up from the basic one, provides extra value given the functions that can be assigned (I use it for exposure compensation).
Adapts my EF lenses to my mirrorless wonderfully. Works well for non-Canon brand lenses as well. Made it easier to get into mirrorless knowing I wouldn't have to buy all new lenses. Control ring gives you some alternative options for changing settings which is nice.
This is a must-have accessory if you own EF/EL lenses. It's worked with every lens I've tried (Canon and non-Canon). You can't even tell that your using an adapter (other than having the convenience of the control ring).
The Control Ring Mount Adapter is an superbly constructed product as one would expect with Canon, and it does exactly what it is suppose to. I use it for aperture control, and it always works. Its not inexpensive but in my opinion is well worth the price.
I have 3 Canon Control Rings for my EF and EF compatable lenses, I also have another brand control ring. With the other brand I get too many "Communication Error" foul-ups. I need another Canon Control Ring as I leave them on several EF type lenses
Works as it should. I still find myself double thinking when actually using the ring but I think that is me just needing to get use to it. I have it set to ISO since I dont want change iso to be a 2 step process.
The adapter works as expected, allowing me to use my EF "L" lenses with the R series body. I has a solid fit, and all of the functionality functions as expected, including IS.
