The Canon RF 100-300mm f2.8L IS USM is a high-end telephoto zoom for the EOS R mirrorless system, aimed at indoor or close-range sports, or where you need a little more reach than a 70-200, like at red-carpet events.

I rented 2 of these lenses for a recent shoot with Cirque du Soleil. They performed phenomenally! Usually we are limited to our 24-70 and 70-200 2.8 lenses...and rarely will bring along a 300mm 2.8 beast. However, this lens proved to be the missing link with what we've needed for years!

I love the versatile of this lens. I shoot college basketball, gymnastics, and volleyball with it and have loved the sharpness and fast focusing.

Only need 1 lens for sports now, replaces my EF 300 2.8

I mostly shoot indoor swimming and water polo, and this is my dream come true. I used to use a 300/2.8 and a 70-200/2.8 but would have to pass on great shots with the 300 on as being too tight. Other shots would require a lot of cropping if I had the 70-200 on. The new 100-300 is simply perfect.

I bought this lens on Sept 29, 2023. I bought it to use for sports and nature photography. so far i have only used it twice for nature photography. I'm completely satisfied with my purchase. Lens is quick and sharp!!! I'm currently using this lenses with my canon Eos R5 and Eos R3.
