250D Close-up lens is a solid heavy piece of filter (not sure on prolong use will affect the lens motor) will roughly magnify the image by 30% at 55mm lens (on a 18mm to 55mm). Good for travelling when need some close up photos.
One of the best, most useful accessories I have ever purchased! I use it on several cameras (P7700, F828, HS10, HS20, HS50exr, and slr lenses) always great results! The advantage is that on a tele lens it magnifies at a good working distance.
I have several of these lenses in different diameters. They are so useful when you need just a little extra close up power & do not want to carry a macro lens or a lot of accessories. They really help with a mirror less set up for flowers, large insects or even jewlery and watches.
Bought for use with my Canon G1X, with the required bayonet adapter. Good quality, cemented two-element lens, minimal distortion or aberration, for this kind of thing. But be aware it's not much power - difference is not much of an advantage over the regular macro range.
Compared to the price of a decent lens, you can experiment and own this lens for pocket change, and it offers you the opportunity to do things (really close) that you simply could not otherwise do. It's simple - just screw it on - and you're off.
This handy lens works beautifully when attached to my Nikon 50mm 1.8G lens. It is easy to take along in your bag and pop it on when you need it. It has a limited focus range, but for what it does, it does it very well with the sharpness and quality of a macro lens.
This does a great job for me. It is light and easy to put in my pocket when I'm out for a stroll. It is a great alternative to a dedicated macro lens for people like me, on a budget.
makes it east to produce closeup/almost macro photos of items such as flowers, insects etc. , allowing me to use my current 18-55mm lens and saving me the cost at this time of a dedicated macro lens which I suspect I will eventually purchase.
Close Up or macro photography on a budget but with the trademark quality lens you can expect from Canon. The tiny writing on the multi language paper information enclosed, states that this screw on lens attachment works best at 135mm - meaning the mid range of a 50-250mm zoom.
