Gets the job done
I had to replace my 14 year old / 2011 Café microwave and decided to go with this one. I just didn't find a knob on the outside of a microwave to be very appealing. I would have rather had the higher end features but the knob was a deal breaker. I defrost some things, soften and melt butter and cheeses and reheat coffee in a microwave. Very few things actually get cooked in here. That is what I have a Café gas stove for. And if I ain't cooking on the stove then I am probably outside smoking or grilling it or maybe using my sous vide circulator. But this is a decent microwave for the price. It was easy to install by myself. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

Hoping the 3rd one works
Just had a GE Cafe Series Microwave installed for the THIRD time in less than two years. The first was installed in 9/22 at the time when we also purchased the range in the same Cafe line. That microwave lasted a few months, died, and then had to be replaced. The replacement lasted less than a year and, just yesterday, was replaced again. Though we love the Cafe Series range, can't say the same for the matching Microwave. Hoping this third one will be the last we'll need. We'd advise that it should be purchased with extreme caution, and we would have given ZERO stars if ZERO had been an option.

Cafe’ disappointment
We love the s/s styling & handle! We chose to replace an existing GE Profile microwave that worked perfectly in order to match our other two Cafe appliances. But, were very disappointed in the lack of features compared to our old microwave. The push button controls are hard to use because you have to press “hard” to activate a feature and there are fewer features all around. The sound level of the timer & sensors are not loud enough to hear from more than 10 feet away and do not adjust to an acceptable level or close to our previous microwave. Not worth the cost and would not purchase again.

Still trying to decide....
I replaced a microwave that did not NEED to be replaced- simply to have one that matches my Range. I love the look of the Cafe appliances. I do not necessarily need ALL the bells and whistles of the higher priced cafe models so I thought this was a safe purchase despite other reviews. So far I think it is fine for our purposes. I will say the vent is a bit louder than our last brand . I also wish the color of the lighted touch pad and clock numbers were the same as the Range. I was surprised that it is different. Doesn't make much sense.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!
Not long after getting it, it stopped beeping to let me know it was done cooking and so did the timer. Repairman came out....went to settings and redid everything. Worked for a few days and quit again. I redid all the settings again. Sometimes the timer will beep., but not the end of cooking beep. I have to reset everything every time I use it. I have to stand there and watch it to know when it's done.....even if it's just to restart after stirring something!
The exhaust filters are useless if you're doing something like a pot of soup or a pot of spaghetti!!! If you try, the whole thing shuts down and you have to wait until everything dries out to start again. When you push to start the microwave, the fan and/or lights go off for a short time.

Quality control ?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had the microwave installed by professional installers from the appliance store where we bought it, and on first use, it made a loud buzzing sound wherever it was turned on. The sound stopped when you pressed on the bottom of the oven, so it was maybe a loose plate. I removed a panel to access the underneath but couldn’t pinpoint the source of the sound. However, when I reinstalled the plate, the buzzing no longer occurred. Hopefully that’ll hold, but it’s a little concerning.

Both versatility and flexibility!
My new Cafe microwave continues to delight me as its #1 consumer. Beginning with the installer, who raved about the Cafe model as far and away the best microwave he installs, he let me know that he installs all types of high end appliances including microwave ovens. Following installation, I have cooked various (frozen) meals; the power of the oven and the ability to adapt its features to my immediate needs is a welcome change from any previous microwave I have owned.
