This binocular/camera is a very handy thing to own. It's fun and easy to use. It does well powered by Watson rechargeable cells. It can be used handheld but a tripod's good to steady the view.
wish someone had written that it is virtually impossible to get a steady picture with this binocular. Optics are find but the camera is worthless. We like to take photos at concerts and all photos turned out to be unusable.

I don't know of any other device like this on the market, but if you're looking for something to take long-range photos, save your lunch money for a while, or take out a second mortgage on your house, and buy a nice digital camera and a high-powered zoom lens.

Pretty nice optics for the price. The view is sharp and clear, without much color separation. The the zoom (15-45x) is good and brings things in close so you can get a very good look at your subject. Comes with a decent (but not great) table-top tripod, shutter release cable, and USB cable.

The 5mp digital camera is pretty pitiful. It can't handle extremes very well, the color is off, and the video is grainy, noisy and choppy. I think the cheap camera in my cell phone might be better than this one. The camera only uses one zoom setting (22x). The plastic housing seems pretty fragile.
The camera does not even line up with the binocular optics, so what you are looking at is not in the picture if you snap the shutter. The pictures are useless for all practical purposes even on High Resolution. I would not recommend this to my enemy. Someone please tell me that it is just my camera.

Low-Quality Recordings
The quality of the digital pictures are poor at best. One must hold the binoculars perfectly still to get a decent shot. What you see through the binoculars is not in alignment with the digital camera.
