ARCHED GLASS WALL MOUNT CHIMNEY RANGE HOOD & LIGHT
I love the look of this Chimney Range Hood fan...and so do the many people that visit. Efficient, great looking and completes the job of removing cooking smells/smoke. Has 3 fan speeds and light. Just a heads up, it is also a wind gauge, whereas when it is windy, the outside vent cover makes noise from the wind blowing it open and closed. Although you can clearly hear it, it doesn't bother me.

Love the hood EXCEPT
I've had this hood 5 years and I love it except for 2 things. First, the fan is very noisy and it is so annoying to be in the kitchen cooking when it is running. My husband, an engineer, tells me to think of it as a whole house vacuum. Worth using it to keep things clean in spite of the noise. Second, and even more annoying, is changing the halogen bulbs when the lamps burn out. It is dark over my range when they are, so I stick with it until I can get them changed, but it is the most tedious task I believe I have ever done. I hope I don't accidentally meet the person who designed this hood and be told he did because I might be tempted to do something very unladylike to him, and it had to be a man. These lamps have G4 prongs, which are about the same diameter as a human hair, the female receptacle faces the back not the front of the hood, and there is a metal tab that hides them. So, even when I am sitting half on my counter top and half on my stove top facing away from the wall with my head inside of the hood so I can see the receptacle holes, this is a very difficult task. If I had the fingers of a spider monkey, the vision of an eagle, and the manual dexterity of a 14 year old who has played video games his whole life, this might be a little easier versus all but impossible. I would have gladly paid $100 more for the hood to have bulbs that are easy to replace. I hope you come to your senses and design future hoods so that your customers can stand on the floor in front of them and quickly and easily change them instead of doing contortionist moves to see around your hand to guide the prongs in the holes. Either that or make the designer post a you tube video of how to do it in 20 seconds or less.

Customer Service was great
I installed this chimney hood in the wrong manner that caused the stainless steel chute to be scratched. When I put the glass in place, the glass scratched the stainless steel chute with a 10 inch scratch. My wife was very upset with me. My finger prints all over the chute
was not a pretty sight either. It could have been avoided if I would have left the protective film in place till I was finished installing the glass.
I sent an email to customer service and got the surprise of my life. Customer service sent me a replacement, and with instructions on how to remove the finger prints on the new replacement if I happen to make another mess. Needless to say, I will not remove the protective film.
What great customer service. I will continue to buy Broan forever.

Beautiful and functional
We've only had the hood in place a few days. So far we love it! It is a perfect complement to our newly remodeled kitchen. Operation is efficient. Lights over range are extremely helpful and sufficiently bright. Exhaust works great starting from lowest speed up to highest. I wish it were as silent as our Bosch dishwasher (we are spoiled by that) but it is 80% quieter than the ancient hood it replaced.
