Really great.....
Aside from the pour mechanics of the carafe as mentioned by others. As for the cleaning of the grind chute I have found that if you clean off the silver disk that closes off the grind chute after every pot you make then you only need to clean out the chute behind it every 8-10 hoppers of beans. It only took me a little over 5 years to figure that one out. But if you just clean it off with a damp towel and get all the grounds off then the maintenance is super easy. Even after 8-10 hoppers of beans the chute between the hopper and basket assembly there is very little grounds that you need to scrape off the sides, top and bottom of the chute.

Waste of Money
At first this was a great machine as it produces really good coffee. After just a few months, however, the grinder gets jammed every couple of days. The entire thing has to be disassembled do it can be cleaned from both the top and where the grinds are dispersed. I have to actually vacuum out the grinder from the top. There's a buildup of black sludge where the grinds come out that I have to chip away with using a knife. It's a huge hassle. For the price of this machine, one would think it would last longer before having to go through this constant routine. I can't wait to find something else to replace it and get this out of my kitchen.

I received this as a Christmas gift and am beyond disappointed. The first machine worked for less than a month and had to return for replacement. I am now using the replacement and having trouble with the water loci container but the real
Problem is the grind chute. I religiously follow the instructions from Breville and watched their videos to insure I wasn’t doing something wrong BUT I believe this is a defective coffee maker. I use my Breville once a day and really had high hopes for this coffee maker but don’t purchase until all the problems are fixed. Really disappointed and fed up. I am shocked Brevillr has not pulled from shelves

Breville I expected better.
I bought my coffee pot just a few years ago. I have many Breville products as I believe in their quality. The coffee pot was a big disappointment. I have cleaned the chute as breville recommends but still have had issues from the very beginning. I wish they would make a model that addresses this. Or offer a replacement after years of dealing with this. I have the oven it is fantastic and the blender, and several other products. The coffee pot is my go to everyday and is disappointing. Help Breville! I should have reached out sooner but I had high hopes the problem would remedy over the years. It hasn’t. Disappointing!

Great but high maintenance
I love so many of the features. You can make a single cup or a full pot and have several choices for the strength of the fresh ground coffee. If you run out of whole beans you can use ground coffee as well. The carafe is a little awkward and difficult to pour. My main disappointment is the maintenance needed to keep the grinding gears free of debris and working. I find the directions slightly difficult to follow and perform. I sent my first one back because even after following the directions on how to clean it it would not grind properly. I am on my second one and it seems to be better but time will tell. It does produce good coffee.

Over priced and nothing but issues
Purchased this grind control coffee maker for my husband for Christmas to replace his old Cuisinart. Big mistake. Literally only worked correctly 1 or 2 times. The bean hopper constantly gets clogged and is difficult to unclog. Most times he would make a cup of coffee and it would come out as tinted water. The beans go nowhere near the water to make the coffee. We have taken it apart and tried to clean it more times than I can count. Actually seems like the grinder is stuck so there is no way for the beans to come down the shoot. Over priced, over featured, and very underwhelming. Should of paid attention to the negative reviews. A complete waste of money..

Makes good coffee, when it doesn't jam.
This machine makes a really good coffee. Unfortunately, you have to commit to being a slave to its maintenance. If you don't thoroughly clean the machine with brush and vacuum every single week, it will clog preventing the beans from flowing through the grinder and leaving you with a pot of coffee scented hot water. A very unpleasant surprise when you use the time to make your pot each morning. This happens WAY too often and typically when you need that cup of coffee the most. An absolute downer. If we can go a month without that happening, that's a good streak. And yes....It happened this morning. An especially harsh bummer on a Saturday morning. But then we clean it and get a great pot and the cycle continues.

Just how fastidious a cleaner are you?
The coffee is very, very good. The maintenance & cleaning processes are equally as bad. That aspect was not well engineered and applied. That said, unless the potential buyer was fully aware of the committment to machine oversight and daily maintenance I could not recommend. The users' manual needs to be rewritten to accurately reflect what is needed to be done in advance of machine laden instructions that are difficult to follow. For instance: the rotating chute cover does not move as needed - a manual removal is needed in order to access the opening for cleaning with a scraper, mini brush & vaccuum cleaner. Your choice here. Good luck.
