Needs design modifications
I expected really good design from this range, but am a bit disappointed. One thing in particular is a regular and annoying issue. The oven fan comes on automatically when you set any oven temperature (no matter how high or low). It then runs until exactly 15 minutes after you shut off the oven. Therefore, you must listen to the fan run while you're eating, if you are in the vicinity of the oven. Why doesn't the fan shut off on a sensor? It's nonsense for it to run on a timer, no matter what the temperature of the oven and its surroundings are. You could turn the oven on at 50 degrees, for 3 minutes, and the fan would still run for 15 minutes after shut-off.

Bosch 800 Series Electric Range
This is a nice range visually. Within 3-weeks of installation I notice one of the knobs to be hot to the touch after usage of associated element. With the next usage there was a buzzing sound under surface near this same element. The repair included replacement of a faulty/shorting out connection. This was the second repair within 3-weeks of purchase. The first repair was possible the fault of the delivery crew as the display area was scratch to a cloudy look. I hope the range is now home worthy. It is hard to be very enthusiastic about this purchase right now as I am cautiously waiting for the next problem.

Bosch electric range
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] On an average of approximately 1 in 4 times, steam interferes with the range controls when opening the oven and the oven displays an error message and then turns off. This is frustrating when opening to check the temperature and you still need to cook. Technician is going to try replacing the control panel but indicated this is likely due to moisture interacting with fingerprints on the screen. Seriously, a touch screen can't handle fingerprints! Plus, who has time to clean a touch panel constantly while cooking.

Quality Range
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had the range for a few weeks now. We are very impressed with the build quality and performance of this range. The range top heats up fast and the oven bakes extremely even. The only issue that we have is the touch screen control for the oven. The screen is a little sensitive and if you brush up against or wipe the screen it will change the settings. The touch screen lock does not work while the oven is in use. It is super easy to change the settings on accident or if you have little helpers then you have to redo everything :).
Overall would by again.
Make sure you pay attention to the installation requirements for the electrical outlet.

Very pleased
We bought this Bosch to replace the previous Bosch we had for only a few years. I was upset and surprised to find that the failed piece couldn't be replaced; in fact, we had to replace the whole dishwasher! But since the plumbing was already in place, and the reviews in Consumer Reports were top-rated, we bought another one. I'm very pleased with this one, everything coming out clean and shiny. The buttons have confused me a little, and once you make a mistake you have to live with it. There's no "erasing" and starting all over with your choices. That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Let's hope this one lasts longer than the first.

Worth the Wait!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We ordered all Bosch appliances after having a good experience with the quietest, most efficient dishwasher ever. We love how easy this range is to use. The control panel has a lot of features with easy-to-select modes. The oven and stove top cook evenly. It took some getting used to when the glasstop lights would turn off and on during cooking instead of staying continuously on. We love the minimal look it gives our kitchen, with the knobs (metal, not plastic) in front of the range. Our only issue is the glass top is difficult to clean, even using products and tools provided by Bosch. We wipe it down after each use, but there are marks and bubbles that do not come off. It could just be a learning curve for us since our previous range was induction. Overall we love the functionality and look of our range and other Bosch appliances.

Mostly satisfied
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our appliance repairman who is not an authorized Bosch dealer (darn) highly recommended to get all Bosch appliances as they have a reputation of long lasting and few repairs so Bosch appliances are the only ones we considered or reviewed. The appliances we replaced were almost 20 years old. I do not like the control knobs on oven door as I accidentally lean against them when reaching for something in the upper cupboard. This causes the oven to beep and ask for a temperature setting. This happens less often as time passes since I am becoming more careful not to lean against the knobs. Often my foot touches the warming door and the drawer opens automatically; there is no handle on warming drawer so you need to close it with a pot holder so that you do not leave a finger print. "Kitchen timer" will keep beeping until you shut it off (good). Cakes cook in less time than box instructions and taste perfectly; we rarely use convection mode. I find that food takes less time to bake in this new oven. I really like the "Fast Preheat" option. Stove top burners heat up much faster and seem hotter than our prior range and I have burned my food a couple times so there is a learning curve; the right front burner seems to be hotter at position 4 than the double left burner at position 4. I also have new Calphalon fry pans and that might be adding to the confusion. It is difficult to read the heat settings as they are so faint and partially hidden by the knob itself. I find that I have to bend way down to read them and sometimes need to use a flashlight so I can read the faint number around the knob.

Unreliable and inconsistent
The touch screen control panel is too sensitive and sometimes turns off the oven if you open it and too much steam comes out. The oven temperature doesn't hold after pre-heat once you open the door and put something in, the temperature drops and takes a long time to get back to the original temperature set (I've checked it with a separate thermometer in the oven). Convection Bake works better than Bake but not great.
Also, the warming drawer is very sensitive - you barely need to touch it with your foot and it springs open. It takes several tries to get it to close and stay closed.
Overall the unit usable but I'm not happy with the quality given how much we spent on it.
