The new URSA Mini Pro G2 features the familiar form factor of the URSA Mini Pro 4.6K, while boasting a number of under-the-hood upgrades. The first, and perhaps most important, is the inclusion of the new Blackmagic RAW codec.

With the URSA Mini Pro G2, techs can switch hit between filmmaking during the week and IMAG duties on the weekend. Here’s what else this camera can do.
So far, this camera exceeds expectations. The images it produces are fantastic. There are a couple minor menu/functionality issues I hope they address in upcoming firmware updates, but nothing major.
Excellent Camera! I have no magenta cast nor vignetting. The Dynamic Range is Amazing! If your a DSLR user, don't expect to shoot with this camera straight out of the box. This is not a low light camera also, this is a cinema camera so you need lights on many occasions.
Great image, a lot of quirks but normal to a Blackmagic User. Great under <8k camera for what you get.
I don't typically do reviews for anything I buy, but this was a huge purchase and I figured I could help someone else pull the trigger. I'm a musician and filmmaker, and bought this camera to continue raising the quality of my films.
Blackmagic confirmed a defective sensor in the first G2 I received, but everything looks as it should on the replacement
I run a production company and rental house in LA and had the original URSA Mini 4.6k, followed by the URSA Mini Pro G1 and now the URSA Mini Pro G2. The G2 has significantly less noise than the G1. ISO 800 looks clean. 1600 looks good, but some noise.
Ive been running BM cameras since the BMCC 2.5K and the G2 is easily their best. Really pleasing image, dynamic range, and beautiful color, as youd hope.My new unit unfortunately had a few issues including: turning on at random, when off; rampant noise after booting up that slowly dissipates...
This camera is absolutely amazing!!! They may have had some production issues in the first few runs but they seem to have thier act together now. The video quality is absolutely superb and the included Davinci software is incredible for color grading.
Great Camera! be prepared to buy add ons especially for run and gun. image is superb and much better overall experience than the original ursa and the production camera. check out my video review on youtube via techjmedia [...]
I endlessly research professional cameras, even still, since buying one. I shoot and edit vids for a large non-profit company 5 days a week. I got this, thinking it would suit me best over the many other choices because of the black magic color science, the prores/raw options and rez.
