My partner bought this for me 17 years ago to replace an f5.6 bag that was too small. I have taken it around the world and it does not show any signs of wear ar all. Mine is the khaki fibrenyte one with tan leather.
Practicality, integrity of build, ease of use, protection of equipment, plus the pride of knowing that you have purchased a product that is British through and through.
Very high quality bag. Obviously the company who makes this bag cares about quality. There's some padding in the bag but I wouldn't call it well padded. I like the classic look.
This bag is made of very high quality materials, but that's where the positives end. I had expected a beautifully designed and manufactured bag that would be easy to use. What I found was a highly padded leather/fabric bag that was a major pain to open, to pack, and to close.
I've used the various Domke bags (F2, F5, F6) and a backpack type bag but finally settled on this Billingham for a Leica M2 with four lenses and light meter. I even tried the F6 again, since it's lighter, but it's just not as good in utility as the 335.
The protection it gives the camera equipment., The ease of use when you're watching a subject and pulling lenses out of the bag by feel.
It's eight ounces (0.25 kg) heavier than the Domke F2. Mine is the Nytex version which is lighter than the canvas version., Optional backpack straps can be attached so you can carry it on your back, but it's not as comfortable as a dedicated backpack bag.
A super strong roomy bag with superior weatherproofing
These are beautifully crafted and will last a lifetime. However the drawback is they're heavy, less practical in terms of organisation and slightly less weather proof. The likes of Lowepro and Tamrac have much better divider systems and specialist pockets for things like memory cards.
This is my first ever Billingham camera bag. It's large enough for my Canon EOS 5D mklll plus three lenses. One is the Sigma 50mm f1.4 art lens. This isn't a small lens by any stretch of the imagination. It's big and it's very heavy indeed. The other is a Canon Zoom lens, and a 85mm fixed lens.
fantastic camera bag and multi use bag. Love it
A beautiful bag, expensive, but worth the money.
Very strong and study bag will last a very long time. Only down side is that it's heavy
