If it weren't for the convertible mono/tripod feature I would have chosen a different brand. The camera mount requires a coin to tighten the screw, and the tips of the legs are noisy on hard surfaces. On the positive side, ball head is smooth, is compact and easy to carry in the case included.
The quick release plate is compatible with the Manfrotto 501PL. I didn't see this info jump out anywhere other than on the box. This opens up many more options for getting a QR ecosystem going. It's phenomenally compact, pans and tilts phenomenally well.
Purchased this tripod as a B pod for static shots and for travel or light duty work. Coming from a rather heavy Manfrutto 504 75mm set up this is so easy to transport. Although the head looks like a nice fluid head it does not really compare to a Miller or nicer Manfrutto.
You won't be doing any professional work with this tripod. The Aero 4 is marketed as a travel tripod, i.e., take it with you on vacation and use it with your high-end camcorder or DSLR. That is how I use it.
Perfect for video, photo takes a bit to setup shots, but as stated it is a video tripod so it is to be expected. Love the S4 head, if you are looking at the Benro Aero lines, the only difference I can see is the monopod. If you don't need one save some money and go this route excellent product.
Good product but bigger than I expected
Easy to use and lightweight. Also very portable.
I took this with me to shoot a documentary in the Dominican Republic. I was excited about the small form factor and that it could be thrown into a backpack. It was fine for the stable shot interviews, but for anything requiring a pan or tilt, for the money, I was disappointed.
Excellent for Travel, No for panning or tilt camera movements.
Ideal for travel, Not for panning or tilts.
