Compact mixer that gets the job done. Have used other Begringer products in the past and never have had issues with them. Fantastic for the price compared to other options. Same size as the 802, but more inputs (with stereo pairs).
Never had a mixer before this is my first but it sounds great
The Xenyx 1002 Mixer was the perfect choice for use in recording a chamber music performance with just two microphones. The mixer is very low noise and yielded a high quality recording.
We are using the xenyx 1002 in a backup studio which also serves as a production room. Does 90 percent of the things our big board does, with sound quality more than adequate for rock FM radio.
Purchased primarily for its 'Tape In to Control Room' monitoring function to use with an Olympus LS-10. Exceptional recordings using professional mics with or w/o phantom can be verified and compared Live in the field.
I only use it to control gain and as a souce selector or enhancer the inputs (add more than most monitor controllers have), since i have the usually hifi stuff, cdplayer, dac from my pc (topping D10 Balanced) ,turntable (+ phonostage) and a casette deck, use mackie MR624 with roland black series...
I've been leary of Behringer but have slowly become more comfortable with some of their products. This mixer has 2 mic pre-amps and several other inputs. I use it in my business, running mics for wedding video and even live sound. It has performed dependably and the FX on the 1002FX are pretty good.
