Many years ago I bought a pair of Roland MA-8 monitors for a video editing workstation. I liked them so much that they have stayed with me as different editing systems have come and gone. Unfortunately, Roland no longer makes them.
If you're looking for a high quality 2 channel desktop speaker system that delivers outstanding quality audio at a moderate price, look no further. I've listened to jazz, rock, classical, and techno so far, and every genre is done justice by these speakers. Pull the trigger.

I'm running these speakers through my new HT Omega Striker, and let me tell you... they sound amazing for desktop speakers. Good bass and treble (which can be adjusted on the fly with knobs on the unit), headphone jack and karaoke mic inputs on the unit as well. Adjustment knobs are not flimsy.

None that I can think of.
I was shopping around for some value computer office speakers, and landed on these. I use them in an office setting for music (typically low volume) while I work. Nothing makes the work day go by better!
Musical instruments sound like musical instruments. And once I heard the difference, it became painfully obvious that some of my recordings were not so good.

* Excellent sound quality, * Magnetically shields, * Manual controls for volume, bass, treble * Excellent value between the cheap computer speakers and the more expensive sound systems.

* They are large for desktop speakers
These speakers are as good or better than others I have used (costing 2-3 times these) in video edit suites in the past. Give great, accurate sound with absolutely no cross talk or hum. Note: nearfield monitors serve a special purpose in representing typical sound.
I initially bought these to use for an animtaed halloween display. These were superior to any of the other speakers I tried. Seemed to do better at higher volume without breaking up. Also much more substantial than others condiering these have a 4 inch driver.

they seem to be built very well and they sound great. more than enough punch sitting on the desk right in front of your face. Sound decent at higher volume levels with minimal distortion.

not as much bass as other units with a sub, but not what I bought them for. A bit larger than most PC style speakers so make sure you measure your space if you plan to use them on a desk.
The MS16 definitely provides more quality sound than the price tag would lead to believe. I've had mine now for about 10 days, and my fiancee has to physically pull me away from the laptop when it's bed time. (Oh oh!
I love the build quality, the front panel controls and the headphone jack. Keeps my neighbors from being truly "Disturbed".

Purchased these to replace a cheapo pair of speakers that I have been using for years. I never realized how bad my cheap speakers sounded until I plugged these into my PC. All I can say is wow! I own an older high-end surround-sound system outfitted with Polk floor units.

Distortion at high volumes, no different than any other speakers their size. They are a bit large for a desktop but my desk is fairly large.
I do freelance video editing and production and bought these for my home editing suite to get a more accurate representation of sound while mixing audio; so far happy with the clarity and performance. They're a little bulky but we can't have it all.
Unlike the studio monitor speakers, this comes with the stereo cable. So no need to worry about the cable for this one.

These are the first professional speakers I have ever bought, and there is a huge difference between it and Logitech speakers. Usually with speakers I lose details in the sound that I can hear with headsets. However, with these speakers I get those details.

Wish I bought the more expensive ones now that I know they are good.
