I've recently become interested in watching the wildlife (mostly birds, rabbits, chipmunks, foxes, etc.) that are constantly in our backyard, so I figured I'd give this monocular a try since they got good reviews, are compact and seemed to pack a lot of bang for the buck.

Great item to have either in your photo bag to check subjects that are a bit away or just to have along on a nature walk. I've found it to be of sturdy construction and fairly weather proof. No problem after about 10 weeks.

I use this monocular all the time to watch birds and check out the night sky. It focuses very sharply, even at long distances. At night, I can see a lot of stars that are not visible to the naked eye. It has a fairly wide field of vision, which makes it easy to locate an object.

I bought the predecessor to this model 10 yrs ago when I had one marginally functioning eye. Since then that same eye became legally blind. This monocular has been my “go to” for distance viewing. Now that I dropped my scope and broke it, I’m buying the same product again.

Bought these but they didn't come with a reticular scale in the view which I wanted. I returned these and bought the Vortex Solo R/T which had the features I wanted. The Blackhawk Monocular is built well feels good in the hands and is easy to use.

I brought the monocular for multiple options. Wanted something smallish, lightweight, weatherproof and tough. Barska 10x40 BlackHawk monocular is all that. I pick this one up because all the reviews and a top 10 list says it's the best. It has only one fault.

Being blind in one eye, I wanted a lightweight field spotting monocular for small game, etc. I took this unit on a month long trip to Alaska, purchasing it just for the trip. The unit failed to focus after only using it about 20 times, it literally came unglued internally and my efforts to fix it...
