I bought a pair of these so I could lav up actors for an indie film I was working on. Overall, they're great and quite easy to work with. The included mics are a bit difficult to hide regarding clothing noise (the element faces front, not up, and also I'm new to hiding lavs), but if no-one is moving...
This mic gives you fairly good audio. The biggest problem is the chargeable internal battery on the receiver. It only lasts about 7 hours and not 12 as they claim. If you shoot all day that is a problem. I would much rather have them run on AA so I can shoot as long as I need.
This is the third System 10 ENG-style wireless system I've purchased -- this one replaced a Sure non-ENG system that is going to be illegal in the next couple of years. I've LOVED the System 10 ENG systems -- I've found the range to be excellent, the clarity to be excellent, and the battery life to...
I use this primarily for lecture videos but I have used this for field recording as well. I have been as close as 20' from the receiver and as far away as 120' from the receiver and there has been no deviation in the sound. Also the lavalier mic that comes with this unit is awesome.
Don't expect professional sound quality from this mic. It's simplistic functionality works against it, not allowing a certain bandwidth to be selected for the most robust signal. Had issues recording from 1/8 cable to FDR-AX100's mic jack. Works well with the Rode Vxlr.
For the price, it is a great unit. Can see transmitter battery levels at receiver. Simple and lightweight.
There are many things to like about this system. The sound quality is very good (I dont agree with the G3 fanboys... ), You have some flexibility when it comes to levels (like a sensitivity knob in the transmitter) and I also like the fact its an RF 2.4Ghz which makes the sound-men I work with on...
The System 10 is very easy to pair and ready to use right away. I can easily switch transmitters from the wireless lav to the handheld mic.
I like everything about the System 10 system EXCEPT the handheld mic. Even minor hand movements on the mic pop my audio meters into -15db range. Many handheld mic interviews will be useless as a result. I'm shocked at the noise level from hand movement.
works good had fun got it to work on my D7100 and it was loud next on my (gy-hm 200 ) not fun but got to work walked a way from the camera and the mic still work good
