I use this to close mic my mandolin and also as an external source for online events. The frequency response is great. I have little to no EQ adjustments going in. The capsule is larger than what I'm used to but isn't an issue for my purposes.
I use three of these mics for interview situations, and their great advantage is that the directional design minimizes bleedover between mics thats common when using omnidirectional mics.
There are not so many professional XLR lavalier mics, especially in this price range. I use it with Zoom H1 and I get a great quality of sound that doesn't require any editing (of course if you want to get the best of the best kind of quality then some editing might be required).

Good Quality, Low price, XLR!
The microphone sounds great. The pre amp housing is well made. Low noise on the cord. Excellent tonal quality. The only thing I would have like was a removal microphone. All in all very well made. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a corded lav microphone.
My experience with lav mics is that the best full- sound usually comes from omnidirectional pickup patterns rather than cardiod. But if your talent is recording in a noisy environment or a room that is not acoustically treated, you may need the narrower pickup pattern that this cardiod lav provides.
You don't need it until you need it...then you REALLY NEED IT. Don't look like a novice, just buy it.
Exactly what I was looking for. A great lavalier microphone at a great price. The sound quality is excellent. The cable for the lav mic on pretty long and the unit can be run from phantom power so you don't even need a battery in some cases.
Works well and the price is right.
Pros: Great sound quality for cost Basically plug and play (Need XLR cable) Compact/light Cons: No power indicator No battery indicator i would like to know the comparison in sounds quality to the Tascam DR-10L
Its a nice clip but the plastic portion that holds the mic breaks in half easily.I have 5 Audio Technica 831b lav mics and recently replaced 4 of the microphone clips. The actual clip part is metal and that never breaks but the part that holds the mic itself is plastic and that breaks easily.
