When my wife runs off with the review gear before I even get a chance to check it out, I know it’s gonna be something good. In this case, she saw the slick-looking Audio-Technica ATH-AD900 headphones , planted ’em on her dome, and never looked back.

  • +

Comfy like a La-Z-Boy, but much more lively. Large 53-mm drivers give a frequency response between 5 and 35,000 Hz. Lightweight, durable design. Ear fatigue not an issue.

  • -

Bass-heads need not apply. Wearing these, don’t be surprised if people peg you for a Trekkie.

These cans are comfortable and swank, but have a somewhat odd frequency response.

Spectacular cans with a low barrier to entry, the ATH-AD900s are a great first step to high-end audio.

So far from these headphones I can notice a very large and great soundstage and instrument seperaration. Complex and well recorded drumming sounds very tight and dynamic. The bass is probably the only low point on these, but it doesnt affect anything in my case cause I like music to sound like it...

Don't expect a complete noise cancellation but since additional bass has made the sound extra good many problem 700x was facing has being fixed. Very good for multiplayer games since it gives accurate spacial sound, easier to locate the enemy positions but make sure you have a very quite room to...

Coming from the ATH-M50X, headphones I have since returned after putting these on, the AD900X I have found to be the perfect set of open-back headphones under the $200 bracket for me. I listen for the most part to 70s rock, in particular female-led songs.

It's a pretty nice headphone. Open-air is wonderful.

Fantastic product. The mids on these cans are excellent and well detailed. These headphones have a very open soundstage as well. The bass, while a little weak, was what I expected from these phones.

This is exactly what I wanted and expected. The primary reason I chose these is because the price is actually comparable to the American one. When doing research online for a new headphone there were dozens of possibilities around the $200 range.

I'm a sound designer and composer, and bought a pair of these as a monitoring an mixing solution for when I'm out of the studio and need to work. I have to say that I actually look forward to putting these on!

The A-T AD900s are a wonderful headphone, especially for the price of ~$230. The lows are very detailed and not boomy at all, however, it doesn't extend terribly deep, though more than many, and the impact is pretty good. Mids are smooth yet detailed, and there aren't any dips or peaks.
