This is mounted on my Sony FS5, and I've been pleasantly surprised with the quality audio it delivers. It compares well against my long Sennheiser, which is just a bit too long for the camera. The AT has great clarity and voices sound full and resonant.
Very good microphone. NOT top of the line but it is definitely a go to mic for everyday usage around medium background noise. Lightweight with a carrying case and mount it will do the job with minimal sound editing necessary in post production.
This is a great mic and fair priced for my needs. The Sony FS7 lacks a factory mic and the ones I used from our FS700 needed an upgrade, so this was it. Its a great size when all you need is a short condenser shotgun mic.
I was in need of a camera microphone for my x70 and z150. I had been using a JVC microphone off a GY-HD700. This microphone sounds great! I was shocked at how much better it sounded compared to the old microphone. I am using it for nat sound but I can see it being usable for dialog.
I have this mic on 3 cameras. It has been a great mic for picking up NAT sound. I just got back from a shoot overseas where we had to pack light. I used this mic plus a shock mount and a mono pod to boom interviews.
My only problem with the Mic is the mounting. The nice secure mount that came with the camera does not fit in my camera bag because it projects out at 45 degrees and requires a screwdriver for mounting. Not fun in a busy venue.
Great balance of price and performance. The competitors either sound muddy or are cost prohibitive. The at is excellent.
I bought two of these and mounted them in a movie set. Worked great, attached to and powered by my TASCAM recorder. Great results.
Just come back from a week's filming in Ghana and am very pleased with the audio quality produced by this mic.
Durable, Great sound quality, Lightweight
Ive been using a pair of these for 3 weddings a week, 9 months of the year for about 10 years. Wonderful for getting reception guest interviews with loud dj or band playing. One mic had little Phillip screws fall out about 6 years in. I replaced them with eyeglass screws and its good as new.
