If you read my review of the Shure KSM141 last issue, you know that I rarely spend my own money on mics. Instead, I rely on the kindness of others for most of my transducing needs. The AT4050 is one mic I did actually buy, and it’s been my solitary “good mic” for years now.
great mic for a small budget. has a nice crisp sound on the vocal, but its not always clear as far as your voice goes. i thought it may have been my room and setting or maybe just me. i tested it against other mics i had and it was just this mic..
awesome sound. an very nice upgrade from the 2020 has a quiet but very strong pick-up. very well balanced and easy to set up. i would definitely recommend this mic to a rising home studio. I had the 2020 before and the 4040 has more of a definite range. love the easy access switches on the base.
For the price, it's a nice VO mic.
The Audio Technica AT4040 condenser microphone is an excellent choice for studio recordings, great for vocals, acoustic guitars and overheads. It has a wide dynamic range and low noise (only 12dB of self- noise). Its high SPL capability captures every sound with detail and with a natural quality.
I was using an AKG dynamic mic in my home studio, and I bought this to get a more crisp sound to my voice. From the second I turned this on, there was a noticeable difference, and it sounds extremely accurate. I am using a reflection filter and an Alesis USB mixer/preamp.
I was looking for a quality condenser mic that would add a bit more polish to my home studio but still be within my budget. I read a number of reviews on this one and also got a good recommendation for this mic from a local professional studio owner. The build quality is excellent...
Like products. I recommend to everyone. Good sound.Suitable for beginner sound but for a professional. Of course it needed a good preamp and you can record a good sound. Perhaps there is a better microphones but they are much more expensive. At this price this is an optimal solution for recording
Definitely a good purchase, I was looking at one of the rode mics that was a little more pricey. The quality definitely outweighed the rode and was cheaper...I use it for tracking vocals and acoustic guitar, really clear and warm tone, can't really fault it, it's a good like mic for my mini studio...
See the other reviews OVERALL OPINION I used it for 2-3 records vocals and guitars. I have an AT 2020 and now
