The Studio Display is a beautifully engineered device with an interesting combination of features, but we’re not convinced that the spec entirely justifies the price. Proven, excellent-quality 5K display Six integrated speakers Dolby Atmos with monitoring preset for Logic Pro Camera with Centre...
Audio artists using Apple desktops or laptops have here a classy and dazzling 5K Retina display to make music production look great, and hopefully sound equally good.
Vibrant, rich, and bright 5K display, Interesting tech extras like Dolby Atmos speakers, Powers a connected computer over Thunderbolt 3
Apple's new Studio Display will be perfect for many, but hopeless for others, and it has a surprising shortcoming.
Great picture quality and amazing sound from the speakers, Very accomplished quality, Works seamlessly with newer Macs.
Expensive, Lacks HDR and 120 Hz ProMotion, and FaceTime camera image quality is below par, No HDMI.
Sitting below the Pro Display XDR in Apple’s expanding monitor line, the Studio Display is an excellent MacBook Pro or Mac Studio companion. However as good as it can be thanks to some excellent colour reproduction and a sharp image, it’s not the most forward-thinking monitor around.
Excellent 5K image, Complete setup with integrated speakers, Mics and webcam, Sleek design, You want to create a simple setup with your MacBook: Thanks to included mics, speakers and an adequate webcam, plus a single Thunderbolt cable connection, this is a strong all-in-one monitor that easily...
Expensive, Lacks proper HDR support, Not great for Windows owners, You have an HDR workflow: Of course, you shouldn’t really buy this if you have a Windows laptop as your main machine, but it’s also worth a miss if you want to create workflows in HDR.
The Apple Studio Display is very good for content creators. It has exceptional out-of-the-box accuracy in the sRGB picture mode, so you won't need to calibrate it, and it displays a wide range of colors.
High 5k resolution delivers sharp text and images., Excellent peak brightness and fantastic reflection handling., Wide viewing angles., Exceptional out-of-the-box accuracy.
Limited ergonomics on tilt-only version., Can't remove stand to wall-mount it., No HDR support.
Look, people have wanted Apple to sell the 5K display from the now-discontinued 27-inch iMac as a standalone product for years now. When that first 27-inch 5K iMac came out in 2014, the display was so far ahead of the competition that buying one for the screen alone represented a bargain — that...
The only decent 5K display available on the market, Excellent mic, Great speakers
Webcam will make everyone you know sad, Aging panel tech: no HDR, no local dimming, no variable refresh, It’s $1,599 and adjusting the height is another $400
For Mac-centric content creators, the Studio Display is a stunning, plug-and-go 5K companion for a late-model Mac (especially the 2022 Mac Studio), but the pricing for the panel and its options is hard to swallow.
Strong color-accuracy and color-gamut coverage results, Impeccable cabinet design, Sturdy, impressively machined stand, Simple plug-and-go design for Mac use
Basic stand only tilts, and height-adjust stand is $400 extra, Glare-resistant coating option is $300 more, No support for HDR, Unclear benefit from A13 Bionic chip and RAM, USB-C/Thunderbolt ports may mandate dongles
It’s hard to know exactly what to make of the Apple Studio Display. It has a lot going for it, to be clear. It has excellent speakers, a great microphone, and a 5K resolution, which really matters for a lot of people.
Mac enthusiasts working from a desk with a need for a screen might want to consider the 2022 Studio Display, but is it worth the price?...
A beautiful display, Lovely industrial design, Great picture quality, 5K screen tech downsamples brilliantly, Very nice Dolby Atmos spatial audio system, Webcam built into the frame, Includes Thunderbolt 4 ports on the back
Expensive, No HDR, No ProMotion or fast screen refresh, Not a lot of bass in the sound system, particularly when audio is in stereo, It's a 5K screen... but you don't really get the option for 5K resolution on a Mac, Height adjustment costs an extra $600, So expensive, it may well be overpriced
A good display for Mac owners with deep pockets, but with too many niggles to be considered a great buy.
Excellent Mac integration, Impressive speakers, Lovely design
Woeful webcam, Panel tech hardly cutting-edge, Expensive
It's the same size as my last iMac but the display is sharper and the camera is a giant upgrade.
This pairs well with the Mac Studio. I moved up from a 4k to this 5k display. This is a quality built display.
It's nice and intuitive. Must have product who have Macbook.
Great 5k monitor money can buy. Minus 1 star for subpar FaceTime camera picture quality.
Simply the best display under $2,000. Even on a windows machine this monitor is amazing. The high PPI makes a tremendous difference, and the brightness can be set so high that the monitor can be used comfortably in a very bright room.
The Apple Studio Display is tremendous. I was intrigued by the idea of this monitor and am blown away by how much I appreciate this display -- it's more than I thought. For my needs it is perfect -- both for my hybrid work-from-home setup and for home use.
This is a great monitor, love the sound, love the camera with center stage, and the 5K retina is so much better than 4K monitors out there. The only regret is the thick bezel. not sure why they did that, given Apple product is supposed to have good aesthetics.
This is a truly beautiful product with great image quality
The screen is bright colourful and very high resolution. It is even better than my old 5k 27 inch iMac. The audio quality is excellent, albeit I would like a bigger sound. You can connect by usbc cable and Apple distribute firmware upgrades along with Mac updates that load automatically.
