The new M1 processor with ARM architecture makes an impressive debut in the MacBook Air. In CPU as well as GPU performance, comparable chips from Intel and AMD are surpassed in terms of the theoretical raw performance - and this is the entry-level configuration of the Air.

stays cool despite the lack of a fan, workmanship and iconic design, speakers, performance of native apps

Thunderbolt with limitations, large display bezels, 720p webcam, stability in Rosetta emulated apps, CPU throttling under longer load, relatively slow WiFi 6 at only 80 MHz

The M1-equipped MacBook Air now packs far better performance than its predecessors, rivaling at times the M1-based MacBook Pro. At $999, it’s the best value among macOS laptops.

Were Charles Darwin here today, once he’d finished screaming at us for tinkering with necromancy and demanding to know what the heck a Lexus was, I think he’d want to see the new MacBook Air.

Apple M1 is astonishingly fast, Excellent battery life, Compatibility with non-native apps is impressive

720p webcam is still underwhelming, Lack of an embedded 4G/5G option is frustrating

“The MacBook Air M1 finally fulfills the promise of a small laptop without performance restraints.”

In a week of testing, I have pushed this computer and its new Apple-made processor to its limits and found that those limits exceeded my expectations on nearly every level.

Fast, Intel-based apps work well, Excellent battery life

Awful webcam, iOS apps are a whiff, It’s time to admit Macs would be better with touchscreens

If you were looking to buy a new laptop for the new year and your budget is in the Rs 1,00,000 range then look no further. Also if you were planning to buy the MacBook Air, then only buy this version as it costs the same as the Intel version.

After a week of time with the new M1-based Macbook Air, I want to focus on the little things. It's a Mac...and then some.

Reviewing hardware is an act of minutia. Occasionally something new or potentially earth-shattering comes along, but on the whole, it’s about chipping away. Documenting small, gradual changes designed to keep product lines fresh and — if you play your cards right — differentiating yourself from the...
Bought this latest MacBook Air as a replacement to a 10 year old MacBook Pro I have. It's really just for personal use inclusive of browsing the web, writing and some presentation creation. Overall I love it. 1) It's incredibly light weight yet doesn't have a fan or get too warm 2) it's very fast.
I have used Mac’s for about 10 years and this is the largest leap in performance I have ever seen. I went from an Intel MacBook Pro to this MacBook Air. I was concerned about only having 8GB of RAM because my MBP had 32GB, but I haven’t had any issues at all. I am a graphic artist and video editor.
My wife needed a new laptop because she works from home. This new MacBook has blown her expectations away! It is super fast and super quiet. Great purchase. Another great Apple product!
I love the speed of this laptop. Zero time to boot. Launching programs is instant. No lag at all. It can handle having multiple browser windows, programs, documents, etc all open at the same time with ease. Best laptop I have ever owned. Love the backlit keyboard. Keyboard feels solid.
I’ve used many Apple products over the years and this is by far one of the best mainly due to the M1 chip. This MacBook Air is incredibly fast, quiet (because it has no fans) since it runs so cool according to Apple, battery lasts very long, screen is bright & crisp (can be brighter when in direct...
Easy to use, works great, super fast and very responsive. Highly recommend, light weight and the battery seems to last forever.
I’ve been using this laptop for about 3 weeks now. It replaced a ten-year-old MacBook Air, so honestly, I’m sure any improvement on that would have been great - but I’m pleasantly surprised at how fast and quiet this one is. I’m very happy with its processing speed.
This MacBook Air is one of the best laptops I’ve ever had! It’s fast, doesn’t take time to load up, I can FaceTime and message, it’s an overall great laptop! I wild recommend this to anyone. Especially people who work at home, it’s super lightweight so it’s easy to move around. 10/10 for me!
