The 2022 iPad Air offers many of the benefits of the iPad Pro for hundreds of dollars less, making it the ideal tablet for creators.

+
Excellent performance, Works with second-gen Apple Pencil, Fits existing iPad cases and keyboards, Light and easy to carry
-
-
Battery life could be longer, No millimeter-wave 5G support

In 2020, the iPad Air will continue to position itself between the iPad 8 and the iPad Pro 11 , but it is now looking more to the Pro model. This is not only visible in the new design but also in the optional accessories such as Magic Keyboard and Pencil 2, which can be used with both products.
-
+
great design and processing, modern SoC, good battery life, good IPS display, versatile expandability, very good loudspeakers
-
-
WLAN is a bit slow, no 5G option, sparse scope of delivery

I’ve been using the new iPad Air (2020) for the past few weeks, throwing everything from writing and emailing to media editing at Apple’s midrange tablet, and I’m struggling to figure out why most people should step up to the iPad Pro.
-
+
iPad Pro design but far more affordable, Screen is excellent, Apple A14 Bionic processor is fast and future-proofed, Touch ID is slickly integrated
-
-
Cellular and higher storage upgrades are expensive, iPadOS still has some multi-tasking foibles

If you’re looking to get an iPad right now and can afford it, the new $599 iPad Air is the best tablet for most people. Apple has taken the design from the more expensive iPad Pro and brought it down to a more reasonable price point.
-
+
Excellent screen, Compatible with iPad Pro accessories, Very fast processor
-
-
Price increase, Only step-up storage option is a big jump, $749 for 256GB, Touch ID on the power button takes some getting used to

“The iPad Air 4 is the iPad Pro for the masses. It's perfectly situated to offer an exceptional tablet experience, without pushing into the territory of high-end laptop pricing.”
![]() |
Yes, if you are looking for a versatile, powerful portable computing device. In fact, if you are bored of the laptop and not really tied to that form factor then maybe you should consider that iPad Air which is most probably more powerful than most laptops out there now.

The iPad Air finally has a solid identity with its fourth-generation model—this time as an affordable alternative to the iPad Pro. While you miss out on features like the 120hz ProMotion display, quad speakers, FaceID, Ultra-wide-angle camera, and LIDAR, the 4th-generation iPad Air comes with...

The fourth-generation iPad Air gives you the power of an iPad Pro for less money, making it the best Apple tablet to buy in 2020.
-
+
Super-fast processor and internet speeds, Excellent cameras, Fantastic build quality
-
-
Unimpressive battery life, iPadOS still doesn't multitask as well as Mac/Windows
![]() |
The iPad Air (2022) is a wonderfully powerful and compact productivity tablet but a tad overpowered for media consumption
-
+
Fast performance, Beautiful design, Good battery life
-
-
Keyboard and stylus cost extra, Overpowered for regular tablet tasks, Base model has only 64GB storage

The iPad Air (2020) offers a great screen, supremely powerful processor, premium design and great Apple Pencil support… it's simply excellent. It's a shame the price has crept up, but it's still the tablet to beat.
-
+
Sleek design in great colours, Detailed screen, So fast and slick, Apple Pencil 2 support, Impressive spatial audio
-
-
Mediocre cameras, No 120Hz or OLED screen, Screen only medium brightness, Notable price jump from previous version
This is my 3rd iPad and this iPad Air 4 is also the best. It's quick & I love the larger screen on the same size tablet. Apple products just keep on getting better & with excellent quality. Love the new 2nd Gen Pencil and a few good apps that make it shine. Only gripe is the super short charge cord.
Family bought me this iPad for Father's Day. I can not put it down! Brilliant! Love the design. The features are awesome! And man, this bad boy is super fast! Best tablet ever!
I bought this to replace an old iPad 9.7 that I’d had for a few years. My old iPad had started to crash a lot while playing games and was getting slow to load so decided it was time for an upgrade. The battery life is much better. The display is better. Definitely faster.
Switched from an Android Tablet. I love it. Haven’t had an Ipad in over 8 years. This thing is so fast and I an looking forward to getting a ton of apps !
I don’t say this lightly. While there are some things that the I pad air can’t do that are better done on a laptop, those things are not that much In the grand scheme of things. I had a MacBook Air that I used and I can say that 90 percent of what I did on the MacBook Air , I was able to replicate...
Seems like an ok iPad but as usual apple throws in some expensive tricks. There is no 3.5 mm jack port and no doogle thingy to use so no headphone use. The charging cable is a “C” to “C” cable so all your other cables don’t work including the one to sync it to your computer with a USB port.
Best tablet on the market. I have the 256gb space gray and i love it. It is very light weight and beautifully designed. The screen is sharp and clear. Battery life is also very good. Easy to use with great sounding speakers. Camera is very good.
This iPad is miles ahead of previous generations. It is fast, flexible and just plain has more capability. Highly recommend if you have an older one that is getting a little slow. You will be shocked at how much better this one really is.
Too big for my small hands, I prefer under 10 inches. It will be going back. It’s a Beautiful tablet, quick speed just not the right one for me after all. I will look into the iPad mini.
Upgraded from my 2017 iPad pro to this ipad air, the pro was still getting the job done but coming close to the end of updates I and wanting the newer design I pulled the trigger sold my pro for 500 so had to do it , editing is awesome on this ipad, media consumption even with only two speakers vs...
