It’s been a busy few weeks for smart speakers. Amazon kicked things off in late September with newer, rounder versions of both the Echo and Echo Dot. Less than a week later, Google updated the Home, after four years, with the rebranded Nest Audio .

The Amazon Echo Dot with Clock is simply an Echo Dot smart speaker with an LED clock on the front—and it's terrific.

If you're after a smart speaker for a desk or bedside table, the Dot with Clock is a no-brainer – but get the standard Dot if you don't need the clock, of course.

I love my echo dot. I can ask her anything that I might need to look up online, but she can do it much faster while I am doing something else. And getting the smart plugs helps to connect her to lights, tv or anything that plugs in!

Have long wanted an easy to use alarm clock that is easy to read and offers many other features.

I know there has been mixed reviews and feedback. I think the sound is good and I really like the clock. I have not purchased any to replace my 3rd Gen dots, but I replaced most of my 2nd gen with these and I am happier. I was happy enough with the first purchase, I purchased another.

Didn't think I would like this tech gadget, even though my sister-in-law said she couldn't live without hers, but I'm really enjoying it and happy I purchased one.

Excellent so far. Had it for a few hours.

  Easy to use

Really easy to setup and use. Definitely should have gotten sooner. Easy to play music, hear my schedule, and get the weather. Love being able to use it to turn the lights in my house in and off at night or before getting home. Will definitely let be buying more.

When it works it's great. Seems to be 'unavailable' somewhat frequently. I assume it's Wi-Fi issues but I end up using my phone on Wi-Fi a lot of times.

Good quality sound and response. My wife loves the digital readout.

I replace my Gen 3 with Clock because the clock wasn't easy to read - Gen 4 is not much better. I also have had problems with the Gen 3 mumbling. Unfortunately the Gen 4 does wake up easily and my Gen 3 w/o clock in the next room is often responding. Such a pain.

I really like Alexa products over Google devices. Alexa is more compatible with other devices and services for home automation.
