Pleasantly Surprised!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this Amana dryer after my old Amana dryer (that I had for 17 years!) suddenly stoped drying on me (in the middle of a busy laundry weekend!). I chose this 'Plain Jane" unit because I wasn't prepared to do research on one of the newer 'fancier' dryers and I wouldn't buy one before doing my research. I am so pleasantly surprised! It dries even faster than my old one which I always thought was pretty darn fast! The larger drum means my comforters dry in a jiffy! I don't feel the need to look at any of the fancier dryers! This one suits me just fine! Hopefully it'll last another 17 years!

A great gas dryer for the money.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn't expecting a whole lot when ordering this gas dryer but just a machine that does a good job drying clothes. I don't have a need for all different kinds of cycles. Well with this dryer that is just what you get. It actually seems to dry a little quicker then the older gas dryer. I set it on less dry and it has always dried the load no matter how full the load was. This has all the cycles that you need. I only had it a month so I don't know about longevity so take it for what it's worth. The last dryer we had was a Whirlpool that lasted over 30 years with little maintenance. I hope this will do the at least half that.

So Far, So Good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After a couple of months all is well. We love gas dryers! They get our clothes dry much faster than electric. This dryer replaced another Amana gas dryer that we bought new as a discontinued model. It had more bells and whistles than this one, but we got 12 years of faithful service from it. That's why we went with Amana, again. Plus it was the best price we could find. Granted, it's a very basic model, but very happy with it so far. Only complaints are that there is no light and no medium heat setting. (only high/low/no heat) But we knew that going in so I guess you really can't call those complaints.

It does the job, but not great.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this one for two reasons. 1) it was the simplest. I don't need steaming or complicated controls; 2) I believe it said it was made in the U.S., and not enough things are these days. After using it for a while, there are two things I don't like. One is the side opening door - fold down is better, but I suppose that's more expensive. Then there's the door latch. It has to be banged to shut it pretty hard, and I fear that means it isn't going to last. That's my biggest complaint.
The machine is a bit slower than the Whirlpool it replaced, but basically it works.

Good Dryer for the $$

A very basic looking dryer, nothing eye catching. But, I am most pleased with its drying capabilities. I have dried clothes on all the settings. The auto dry on low heat has been excellent. The two negatives are: the lint catch is on top of the dryer which leaves the dryer with a dusty appearance; and there is no buzzer indicating when the dryer shuts off. Final thought is, for this dryer being the least expensive one, it gets the job done and worth the money!

I LOVE THIS DRYER!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I already had an Amana washer that was actually repayment of a loan from a friend who didnt have the money so I ended up with the washer, which BTW I love. It washes great and is quite. I wanted the same dryer to match the washer. I love this dryer. It dries alot of stuff fast and it doesn't wrinkle them no matter if you have alot of clothes or just a few, your clothes will not be wrinkled. And its quiet. I would recommend this dryer to anyone. It's not fancy, you can't operate it from your phone, it's simple to use and everything comes out great, everytime. Love it!!

Dryer not satisfactory
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a Roper dryer for 14 years, then I purchased my Amana dry, was so surprised that it took a drying time of 39 minutes just to dry a queen cotton top & bottom sheet with 2 pillowcases. That is way too long to run a dryer just for that, everything else twice as long as the old Roper. I want my old dryer back, but they don't make them anymore. I even had it checked by a technician, he said it was just fine....NOT !
But the energy company will love the fact that I need to use the juice longer... very disappointed. Also the knob seems off, perhaps a design problem

GREAT DRYER
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have now been using my Amana 6.5 cu ft dryer for over a month and must say it has been a terrific addition to my laundry needs. It is very quiet, with numerous timed and selection options. I have several heavy laundered items, such a sweatshirts, blankets and jeans. the timing selections for such items is very accurate and there is no doubt that these items will be properly dried and ready to wear. The wrinkle prevention option saves me from ironing. I do not use any fabric softeners and because of Amana's technology do not need any. My Amana is powered by propane gas and I am very happy with its performance.
