Acer V176L b 17" Essential LED Backlit LCD Monitor (Black)

I bought this to replace a blurring CRT on my family desktop. It fits all of my mom's needs and frees up a lot of desk space, so I'm happy with it overall. We've only used it for 2 days, so I can't comment on the longevity.

  It's light and takes up little space. Despite the matte screen it's very bright. It's energy-efficient, according to Acer.

  The tilt stand on this is quite stiff. There's no rotate, of course, but it is easy to simulate whenever something bumps the desk. The buttons for the OSD are tiny and unlabelled.

The monitor works fine, but the plastic base falls off when you pick up the monitor. This is because the plastic latch does not engage properly to the metal bracket on the back of the monitor.

The screen is clear and bright. Very nice. (5 stars). The stand came in pieces, and the instructions for putting things together were pitiful. (0 stars). Made it more difficult than necessary.

A good monitor, though I wish it had higher resolutions available. I wish it had an HDMI port so that I wouldn't have to use an adapter.

I have used this to replace an old Apple 14 in monitor that was 20 years old. I mounted on the wall behind the CPU which is a 20 year old Macintosh Performa 6200CD Mounting it on the wall on a Video Secu Wall Mount Articulating Arm so I can pull it closer to me or change the angle if I want.

Works great. Use as a second monitor for a desktop computer. Crisp resolution, just plugged in to the old cables and it was instantly recognized.

Another good product. I never deal with anyone other than Novatech.
