This AMD Ryzen-based version of Acer's Aspire 3 budget laptop offers healthy pep for the money, but the touchpad, the battery, and the 15.6-inch display let down the team.
-
+
Ryzen CPU/Vega graphics deliver impressive pep for price. Comfortable keyboard. Easy RAM and storage upgrades. Empty 2.5-inch drive bay.
-
-
Short battery life. Dull, low-res screen. Flimsy touchpad. No USB Type-C ports.
All in all, the built-in AMD APU has left a positive impression. It is a direct competitor to Intel’s dual-core Kaby Lake CPUs. In both CPU and GPU benchmarks, the two processors are roughly on the same level.

+
matte screen, SSD, doesn't overheat, fast SD card reader
-
-
TN panel with poor contrast and viewing angles, average battery life at best, only one USB 3.1 Gen 1 port
-
+
matte display, Full HD display, SSD, maintenance cover, AC Wi-Fi, fast memory card reader
-
-
dark and low contrast display, poor viewing angles, average battery life, no USB Type-C port
-
+
matte display, barely warms up, SSD+HDD, maintenance hatch, AC-WLAN, quick memory-card reader
-
-
dark, low-contrast display, average battery life at best
At the time of this review, we could , which is very good value. For this money, you get a recent Intel CPU, fairly good build quality, a full-HD display, a comfortable keyboard, and decent battery life when doing non-intensive tasks.

+
Good, Functional design, Easily upgradeable, Quiet, full-sized keyboard, Excellent value

-
Bad, Display isn’t vibrant, Low-quality webcam, Feels sluggish at times
This budget notebook offers decent specs at a reasonable price point.
-
+
Attractive and solid design, Decent connectivity, Comfortable, comprehensive typing experience

Limited performance, Very basic display
I was looking for a laptop primarily for school, but I also play the sims. This laptop is able to handle that with no issues. It also have 1TB of storage which is great for all my concert photos and videos through the years, with plenty of storage left over for school papers.
Drop a 2.5" SSD in this machine and unlock the power of Ryzen. With 8GB of Ram, Win 10, and Ryzen, perfect and pre-cache are through the roof.
-
+
Light weight, full size keyboard, and great processor with plenty of RAM.

Hard drive lag, like most modern laptops, is a massive drag on performance.
got it 11/10 cant put it down its just like they say has everything i need
Bought this as a cheap replacement for a failing computer in the household. I'm pretty happy with the quality of the laptop and it's specifications in terms of quality and performance. If there's anything I would like to change it would be the 5400rpm HD for a 7200 rpm drive or at least a 500GB SSD.
Some of the keys (not letter keys, but other keys) have weird sizes and/or placements, like the size of top set of keys is weird because I reach my finger too far for the backspace and tap the num lock key instead.
-
+
It's cheap.
-
-
Please note that all of these things that I put down here don't necessarily effect everyone or myself
Works exactly like it should. I especially like the mini usb storage compartment so you can keep everything together. Sensitivity of the trackball is very nice.
-
+
Fast, compact, easy to use lots of storage
-
-
could use more RAM but hey!
