The ASUS XG279Q is a solid 27″ 1440p 144Hz IPS gaming monitor with a quick response time speed, wide color gamut, and plenty of additional features such as premium design, 170Hz factory-overclocking, and ELMB-SYNC.
-
+
Wide 95% DCI-P3 color gamut, Quick response time speed, FreeSync up to 170Hz, G-SYNC Compatible, Fully ergonomic design and rich connectivity options
-
-
Expensive, Brightness locked to 100 in the sRGB mode, Only 8 dimming zones with slow response, Disappointing ELMB-Sync performance
The ASUS ROG Strix XG279Q is a great monitor for most uses. It offers excellent gaming performance because it has a remarkable response time, VRR support, and incredibly low input lag. Its very good ergonomics, wide viewing angles, and high resolution make it a good choice for office use.

Large screen and high resolution., Remarkable response time., FreeSync and G-SYNC compatibility., Decent peak brightness in HDR.

Uniformity issues., Input lag significantly increases at 60Hz.
ASUS ROG XG279Q is a truly unique monitor. For $600 (or at least it should be priced like that), you get a versatile WQHD solution for both gaming and color. The design and quality of the materials are fully in line with the class of enthusiast products.
Excellent refresh rate, feature set, styling. Fantastic display. I wish there was a second DisplayPort input or USB-C input / upstream... The power on logo still uses the old ROG eye logo as well. The stand is very good and I like the styling, but it does complicate using a VESA mount.
Big upgrade from a 15 year old monitor which was a 1080 at 60 Hz. This monitor came with all of the cables and was easy to setup and get running. Wish it had a presetting with everything turned on. sRGB color space will be useful in Photoshop.
Great design and color scheme, matches the build perfectly. Overall color and screen performance is excellent. I have it set to 155 Hz and have had no issues.
I love this monitor. High refresh rate, vivid colors and very responsive. One of the best 1440p gaming monitors you can buy right now.
Best monitors for 2k gaming. I wish I knew how to overclock them though :(. Asus doesn't explain how to overclock the monitor at all
Monitor brinks out colors and contract equivalent to my 4K monitor. I'm very impressed.
The old saying that a picture is worth a million $$$ couldn't be more than true with this ASUS ROG gaming monitor. This 27" monitor produces some of the best 2K gaming/video content, yea there's 4K monitors but with a 27" I beg to differ to be able to see the difference in video quality on a 27" that...
Pleased with quality ,great picture and motion control.
ASUS did not honor warranty on a brand new monitor. Got stuck with defective monitor because of a non-related superficial scratch that occurred while packing for the RMA.
Although I can't upload photos at the moment it is quite beautiful to behold. I love the fact that it has multiple ports for (2) HDMI and a Display Port that let me plug in all my games which leads me to their awesome wire management setup.
