ASUS PB238Q 23" Widescreen LED Backlit IPS LCD Monitor

First time pc builder here so I'm not much of an expert on the topic of monitors but I was very satisfied with this purchase. Still am. Bought this to replace my old BenQ FP91G+ that my brother gave me. It was old but still i still keep it as a second monitor.

  Good bright colors. Heavy, sturdy and seems well built. Excellent adjustable stand. Does not wobble very much or at all really. Makes the games pretty to look at.

It's a 1080p IPS display with a great adjustable stand, but it's got a few problems. The bezels on this thing are fairly large and stick out a good ways from the actual display, so much so that you can actually see some of the screen content reflecting off of the bottom and side bezels.

I have had the monitor for awhile now its probally one of the best i have had.

The contrast and brightness on these monitors is so good I'm sure it's killing my eyesight looking at them every day! I've had to put them at 50% levels because the picture is so bright! These are nice monitors and I LOVE the height adjustment on them. For the price I'm not sure you can beat them!

I need to test if the USB ports will work on the side even when the USB passthrough is not plugged in. It'd be nice to be able to plugin a phone to charge without having to connect that cable.

  IPS Display, running at 1920x1080. IPS meaning that you'll get very good picture quality out of the box much better than that of your standard TN type displays. If you're looking for an accurate picture you'll need one of these.

  The black level is not that great to be honest and it MASSIVELY needs to be calibrated out of the box. The red is too bright, and needs to be adjusted down, once that is done, it's easily in line with some of the best displays out there.

I do a fair amount of coding and the like. Being able to turn instantly for portrait mode is super convenient. Everything moves smoothly and display is solid quality. This is so much cheaper than other portrait mode monitors, I don't know why you'd spend more for the same features.

Overall, I am quite happy with this monitor and will give it the full score of 5 eggs. I would gladly recommend this to a friend and already have. It helps a ton with editing pictures and screenshots for color more so than any TN panel on the market can boast and I will look forward to any future...

  This monitor blew me away from the moment I opened the box. My old panel was an Acer 24" TN panel thats about 3 years old, which was fine but I wanted to be able to do slightly more accurate color work so I went shopping for an IPS panel.

  There are only a few cons I can find on this monitor. The first one is that its quite heavy for a screen. If you are someone who likes to go to LANs or is just moving around their setup a lot like I am, you're probably better off finding another monitor for that.

Great image quality. Tinny speakers (think MacBook speakers). Not a great gaming monitor, but an awesome Photoshop / graphic design monitor. I enjoy the overlay feature built into the monitor for proofing photos before printing.

I've always been an ASUS guy but it seems like as they grow as a company and demand increases for their various lines of products that duds like mine will begin to slip by the QA team.

  Started flickering randomly through out the day for 1-2 hours at a time. I've only had the monitor for 5 months. Really thought it would take at least 1-2 years before the backlight started showing issues. I guess ASUS is cheaping out on build materials.

Been buying this monitor for clients for years. Probably purchased > 30 of them. Good solid monitor for the price. All the different types of hookups that you could need. IPS panel looks good. Most of them have gone into use as primary monitors on CAD systems and have performed admirably.
