The C100PA Chromebook Flip is the latest model to borrow the 360-degree hinge design from Lenovo’s Yoga series. But with sleek aluminum construction, a comfortable keyboard, and a remarkably affordable price point, there’s a lot more to this story.
Sleek aluminum build which somewhat resembles that of a high-end Ultrabook, Metal casing is sturdier than the typical plastic, Lightweight and very portable, Tablet/notebook transitions are quick and seamless, IPS screen with excellent viewing angles and contrast, Very good battery life, Micro-SD...
CPU performance is fairly mediocre, Lack of USB 3.0, Slightly shrunken keyboard with high actuation force requires some adjustment, Middling 1280x800 screen resolution, Parts replacements are limited to battery and speakers
A Chromebook that manages to add hybrid features without driving up the price, the Asus Flip C100 trades speed for long battery life.
The inexpensive Asus Chromebook Flip C100 has an aluminum body, touchscreen, hybrid hinge, and more than a dozen hours of battery life.
Touchscreen response could be better, and the Rockchip CPU performs slowly in some tests. The lowest-end Windows PCs can cost even less.
The Asus Chromebook Flip is the first Chrome OS device I've been truly excited about since the Toshiba Chromebook 2 . While I still don't need a tablet after parting ways with my iPad Air , the Chromebook Flip gives me tablet convenience in a laptop.
The ASUS Chromebook Flip (C100PA-DB02) packs everything we love about the Chrome-OS family —inexpensive, Web-connected, extremely simple devices, Rockchip-powered— and adds all-day battery life, affordably.
The news Rockchip RK3288C delivers impressive performance. Long battery life. Aluminum construction and convertible design. Touch screen.
Display resolution is lower as compared to most competing chromebooks.
Spending between $200 and $300 on a Chromebook usually gets you a hunk of plastic that’s decent enough at running a web browser, editing Google Docs, watching Netflix, and playing Spotify.
Incredible build quality for the price, Flipping the screen is useful, Strong battery life
Cramped keyboard, Huge bezel, Average performance
Having a touchscreen on a $250 laptop curtails the potential of the underlying hardware, you would think. Asus gets around this by using an ARM-based Rockchip system-on-chip (SoC) known as RK3288-C.
Good build quality, Great value, Solid performance from Rockchip SoC, Useful in all modes
Witness this – a web-browser notebook that flips back into a tablet, made with metal, sporting a touchscreen, that won’t break your bank. That’s what ASUS has up for grabs with the ASUS Chromebook Flip (C100) .
The Asus Chromebook Flip C100PA is a solid device for light users, but its disappointing flippy screen feature bumps the system up to a premium price for those looking for a cheap Chromebook. The £200 Asus Chromebook C201 doesn’t have the flexible hinge, but comes in a full £50 cheaper.
All-day battery life, Sturdy build, Feels well built, Good keyboard
Ugly thick bezels, Sluggish multi-tasking, Unreliable touchscreen and touchpad
If you’re looking for an inexpensive convertible that doesn’t feel cheap, then the C100PA should go to the top of your list. In Chromebook terms it’s one of the best we’ve used, but only if you’re happy with a small screen.
This affordable Chromebook blows other cheap models out of the water with a metal clad body. It's also a 2-in-1 Chromebook that transforms into a tablet with just a flip.
I adore this Chrombook and it is my best purchase since the Google Nexus 7. Screen, overall feel and battery life are the top selling points for me. It has completely replaced my desktop computer. The 4g runs everything that I need it to, although it can get glitchy if I am running two larger apps at...
Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, Fast
Awkward Sound Controls
Definitely go for the extra ram, it helps keep the chromebook from bogging down from too many tabs open. The touch screen is good and tablet mode is not impractical wihth chromeos. Having the extra display rotation is good for a small device.
Despite not being the most powerful chromebook on the market the weird processor manages to keep up very nicely. Screen is clear, sharp and bright. battery life is excellent. Metal body makes it feel much more premium than the other chromebooks around.
Bezels are a bit large, speakers are tinny and quiet.
I plugged the product in to charge, but the screen wouldn't turn on..the lights on the side were lit up but nothing else happened so I ended up sending it back and buying one at the college. :(
Very versatile product when working, lightweight and portable
Terrible Service when the problems come. Unusable
Grand daughter had old xp pc for school work. My Dad use to say always have the right tools for the job.
I have been using this laptop for for over a year now. I regularly watch videos, write essays, check emails, make presentations (google slides), and this Chromebook was able to do all of these things. It is extremely portable, lightweight, and great for travel.
Awesome service, delivered early. Great device, my daughter is very happy. Thanks friend. J
It's meets all my needs.
Very nice product, perfect for what we use it for.
Unit started to freeze and act up after one week. May have been just a faulty unit.
