The Asus ROG Strix XG49VQ is a promising super-wide monitor that has almost everything needed to deliver an ultra-immersive gaming experience. Build quality is good, the subtle curve helps create a wraparound effect, the 3,840x1,080 resolution offers a multi-monitor experience without the annoying...

Ultra-immersive with the right game, Sleeker than multiple monitors, FreeSync support at up to 144Hz, Much lower graphics demands than 4K
-
-
Basic HDR credentials, Relatively low pixel density, Not all games suit a 32:9 aspect ratio

Our monitor reviews are somewhat subjectively rated as we try to show the experience supported by a handful of measurement. I mean it's great to get all the data from the colorimeter hardware including precise brightness levels and color gamuts, in the end though, often once you've calibrated a...

Will definitely appeal to fans of ultrawides, given its picture quality, gaming pedigree and multi-tasking ability. The super-high price and inconsistent feature set remains a concern.

If you’ve got loads of money to burn and you want the biggest gaming monitor around, then the screen in our Asus ROG Strix XG49VQ review is certainly worth investigating. It’s bright and punchy, and will make applicable games look superb.

The ASUS ROG Strix XG49VQ is a 49-inch 32:9 gaming monitor with FreeSync 2 HDR and 144Hz and it kicks ass.

Asus ROG Strix XG49VQ: This 49in curved display’s stunning design and equally striking colours make it a fine gaming choice
-
+
Striking design, Impressive screen width and aspect ratio, Excellent contrast
-
-
Backlight uniformity is so-so

Good basic image quality, solid design and decent features, but a high price and some inconsistent performance are issues
-
+
Excellent colour quality, Fantastic contrast, Huge, curved, wide panel, Decent physical design, Good OSD
-
-
Uniformity isn’t great, HDR has little impact, Huge price, Limited usefulness in some genres

Asus’s latest gaming panel is a super-wide, 49-inch monster of a monitor with a high refresh rate and HDR support. However, you’ll pay dearly for such a monitor without a USB-C port.

Huge panel size, High refresh rate, Great gaming features

Not exactly cheap, Poor image quality for productivity, No USB-C
I like this monitor a lot have been using it for a good year now - the picture quality is very good - the only flaw I had was the logical monitor separation function was sub optimal but it isn't something I use very often - there are some kinks to tweak out but that's more OS and applications...
The ghosting in most games and applications is so bad it actually makes the screen brighten and have a flashing effect during ANY movement. Even while using chrome browser. I would say this screen is only good for maybe music making because the color and contrast is not nearly good enough to do any...
I was excited to use this Monitor for PBP (connect more than 1 laptop at a time), but it didn't work properly. As other reviews suggested, the picture is distorted in PBP. Do you guys know any other monitors that work on PBP*3 (Connect more than 3 Laptops at a time and see all three displays side by...
I bought this monitor not for gaming but for day-to-day IT tasks. I upgraded from a 34" curve with a sidecar monitor to this. I need more real estate to do side-by-side tasks of multiple windows and a place to park chat windows off to the side. The monitor is very well designed.
If you are looking for that crystal clear high resolution picture you might want to get the Samsung Odyssey G9. I think the picture quality just falls slightly shirt with this monitor. But I am going to keep it anyways since I plan on using it primarily for work and not gaming or much video content.
Along with the excellent image quality this monitor is very rubust. My mac fell off the shelf above it and hit the top of the monitor. any other monitor would have had dead pixels for sure.
Massive and great for gaming. I don’t rate things five star unless I’ve own them for a long time.
It’s a nice monitor especially at 49’ at 1080p resolution especially for the price when I bought this. But I will say the stock mount has the monitor lower than where I would like it, it came with a dead pixel on the left side of the screen and after a few months of using it I started to notice the...
This is old model, it is great for business use, not good for professional photo editing ...
I use this monitor for electrical design (blueprints) and autocad drafting. I run it from a company laptop with only 1 hdmi cable. At the top of the screen is multiple drag and drop windows which i love. I usually have at least 6 different things open at one time on the monitor.
