I upgraded from a Shure SM57 as an overhead; And also a vocal microphone. Much better sounding and clear than the 57.
Working with a simple setup, 2 mics are all I need for voice and guitar and boy does this AKG make my Martin D-28 shine! Crisp and not brittle, a very clean mic that is night and day better than the tube condenser I was using. I think I'd pay triple this price for the quality of this mic!
I gave this 4 stars because the mic clip does not hold the mic very well. If you bump it, it will fall. Other than that, mic works great as my overhead on my drum kit.
Excellent mic that's worth far more than what they charge!

Excellent Craftsmanship, Great Sound
This mic sounds great on acoustic guitar: much better than other condensers in this price range.
Use for recording acoustic guitar and hand drums with good success. Nice solid levels with an usb audio interface. Get two for stereo recording. Pairs well sonically with Shure SM58.
I love this mic on Acoustic guitars. Quality sound at an affordable price. I prefer this over its competitors in the same price range.
I make band practice recordings in our rehearsal space. I got one of these to try out as a hi hat mic and it sounds great. It seems durable, too. The mount we tried out failed and dropped the mic on the floor, but it was fine afterwards. Definitely use the built in pad if you're close miking.
I wanted a mic for recording acoustic guitar and although I’ve only just started using it the reproduction is exactly what I wanted
Product of very good quality and performance !
