The AKG K240 Studio is another trusty studio headset that’s proven its worth time and time again over the past 30 years. The K240 Studio is a great option for anyone working on a shoestring budget who can’t afford to compromise sound quality.
Comfortable suspension headband, Lightweight, Vocals sound excellent, Replaceable parts
Dubious durability, De-emphasized bass
High Points The k240's build quality is exceptional and its looks, while retro, should appeal to both young and old. AKG has saved the flashy color schemes for its Quincy Jones line (which shares a lot of similarities with the k240) , though for those who would rather walk softly, the k240 should...
When AKG make a point to display ‘Professional Studio Standard’ on packaging of a product, they’re not making hollow claims. These headphones are just as advertised, having been a staple of many a studio for decades.
I bought these headphones, finally, after hearing them side by side with maybe 12 other brands at Long&McQuade 3 months ago. They are simply supirior so anything ellse that was there, some phones were so uncomfortable you cant stand them on your head, and besides these simply sounded better.
As a sound engineer, musician, and budget audiophile, I feel I have a pretty good ear. That said, I just don't get the great reviews on these headphones. The low end is almost non-existent. The overall sound is dull and lacking clarity and detail. They are inefficient with low volume........
i compared them against the pre sonus HD7 and this AKG´s where waaaaay much better in basses, and with an audio interface they sound amazing.
I HAVED OWNED MY AKG K240 HEADPHONES SINCE 1985 ,USED FOR STUDIO WORK AND STILL SOUND GREAT, I PAID THREE TIMES AS MUCH BACK THEN YOU WONT GO WRONG AT THIS PRICE!
Nice headphones loud enough for mobile DJ work . Light weight and comfortable . Seems to be durable
great great thats all I can say. now I realize that if you spend more then you get more. I have been buying cheap headphones but they do not compare to these at all. buy it the only thing I have to say is that the cord is too short for me.
clear sound, true sound
Since there are only 3 reviews on these legendary cans and 1 is bad, I've decided to put in my 2 cents. Clearly billallyn had a bad experience. However, if you're considering purchasing these, do yourself a favour and do it. Amazing build, extreme comfort and of course. top notch natural audio.
Very Detailed and resolving, deep bass, but needs a good headphone amp or at least a mixer to fully bring out it's good qualities. Slow bass without an amp, but with an amp it quickens up.
I bought this headphones for the features: semi-open, I think there are not another good option at this price, very comfortable for long time of use and the sound is very neutral not colored, I'm not professional in audio but I think this headphones reproduce a flat sound in mind to monitor the real...
I've purchased three of these over the course of eleven years. They're comfortable enough to wear all day, large enough to fit over my large head and ears properly, affordable, and the sound is adequate. The open back avoids fatigue altogether.
