The AKG K240 MKII headphones offer solid build, useful features and honest sound reproduction. For the price, you won't get much better headphones for use for tracking, mixing and editing.
Fairly flat response Full, balanced sound Solid design Comfortable during long sessions
Mids could be more detailed
I have two pairs of AKGs the K240 MKII and the K240s. Yea they get the job done BUT I have long hair and EVERY time I take them off they pull at least 3 hairs from my head by the roots! others I have do not pull hair! They know how to play nice! lol :)
Bought at Guitar Center for $69 in July of 2016. QC seems very good. Comfortable to wear. Screw on 1/8th adapter makes nice solid connection. So far so good, hope it lasts....73 K1WJ
The 240 series have been used in more recording studios than any other headphone just look at any MTV video, etc anything from the 80's onward - the K240DF is still my very favorite set, and is considered THE set for mixing, because they are about as flat of a response as you will get.
Bought the AKG K250 MKII to replace the K240 that I used for 10 years. After researching other options decided to go with this model because I like the semi-open back sound, comfort, addition of an extra detachable coiled cable and extra set of ear pads.
I have the early mark11 headphones ,these are all black with gold trim , the cable on mine is strait 2 metre 10 mil thick high quality rubber feel cable , this drops out from the left hand side underneath the round gold end plate , gold end plates are found on the outside of both sides, the right...
These headphone are awesome, if you don't want to be overpowered with bass these are perfect. They have a crisp sound so much so that I feel like I'm hearing some note's for the first. They are very comfortable to wear for hour's. I would recommend these to anyone.
Given other reviews, I was expecting at least a good product. I am not looking for phenomenal sound, just something reasonable that allows me to listen and not bother other people around me.
First time I have felt the need to review a product but holy moly. As someone who used to buy £30-£40 the step up in quality is insane. I was lucky enough to get these on a lightning deal as well. The only down side is that they have ruined all of my other headphones.
superb sound well worth the money
I really wanted to like these as AKG make fantastic headphones. I had struggled with large headphones before, but the reviews kept saying how comfortable they were. My Honest experience was: The sound was certainly very very flat and would be great for recording.
