In my opinion, the Zoom H1 does a pretty good job at providing a stereo recording experience. It did provide a far better recording verses the Sony and Olympus recorders but only a little bit better than the recorder on the Kodak Playtouch.

Audio recording quality not recommended for professional usage
I wanted to buy a recorder for a small stage interview type of shoot and ended up getting this. The recorded sound quality was good for the price I paid. Very easy to use. The only drawback is that if I connect an external microphone then, the Zoom mic doesn't work.
We use this device to record audio for video projects. It has been a great little tool for what we paid. I am always surprised at the great quality we get. This thing picks up everything so be careful when using it when there is a lot of wind.

Sensitive To Wind
Should've cost $69 instead of $99-- or should've came with accesory pkg. Buttons are too small, feels cheap but works ok- almost sent it back
I found that using rechargeable batteries saves money!
