I had read much about the Cosina//Zeiss lens line and was prepared to be skeptical. I bought the 35 f2 Distagon and was going to give it a try, and sell it if unhappy. All I can say now, with certainty, is the lens is a keeper.
I wanted to like this lens but the quality doesn't warrant the hassle that comes with manual focus. Photos are sharp and colorful but I've seen sharper, more colorful photos from other lenses (mainly Canon L series and Rokinon lenses). I had to sell it after two months of owning.
The Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 2/35 lens is equal to or surpasses any Canon L lens. It is a manual focus lens, which might take some getting used to but worth the effort.
This lens can make perfect colour for pictures. the frame is wide actually, I really love it. I will recommend to my friends!
Waoh, thats all i can say. Up to now my main lens has been the 50mm 1.8 canon. a decent but cheap little lens. Since i have got this,(about2weeksago) i have used nothing else. images are razor shape and have beautiful tones and depth. 2 weeks in and I'm already producing photos like these [...
This lens has great image rendering! I also own the Sigma 35, which I will compare this lens to. After using the Zeiss 35 f2 for some time, you begin to see that this lens produces more pleasing photos than the Sigma. I found myself being more attracted to images from the Zeiss.
I've been using this lens now for the past several months and have used it for portraits, travel, and landscape. It is a fabulous lens, although you'll need to decide if a prime 35 mm manual focus lens at $1000+ makes sense for you.
I've had this lens for quite some time now and I have used it in the city and in remote wilderness areas. I even use it regularly to photograph my 3 year old twins who can't stand still for one second. This is the most versatile manual focus prime you will own.
Awesome lens!!! Exactly as I expected. This is a manual focus lens, which was what I was expecting and just to clear it up further for those still wondering. Manual focusing used in conjuction with the back button focus button on the Canon 6D, a green light will light up in the view finder notifying...
