Flash is vey capable but it will fall off your camera if you do not constantly tighten the locking mechanism. It's a shame that a good flash is ruined by bad cheap & lazy design on something as important as the mechanism that attaches it to the camera. Will not recommend.
So far I'm impressed with it. I'll be really testing it out this weekend. It arrived after 7pm yesterday but from the little use I got from it & also the wireless testing I did with Canon's most recent transmitter; it worked pretty darn good.
I used this for a recent Engagement shoot. It was partly sunny and some shots were right out in a field with them being on the side of some machinery which had some pretty harsh shadowing. I was able to use the 14mm wide zoom and fill everything in nicely. That's where I started to get impressed.
I bought this flash after hearing great things about the Yongnuo's. I was super excited to use it at one of the weddings I had booked last weekend. The flash worked great but over heats VERY easily.
I bought this to work with my Canon 70D. So far so good! I've used a few flashes over the years and the metering has been hit or miss, but so far this flash does an excellent job. I love the fast recharge and the battery life. If I were to complain about anything, it would be the locking mechanism.
I would have given this product 5* but for one thing. Canon has changed the flash shoe on the new SL3. I also have a Canon SL2. This flash works great with my SL2 both on and off camera. I have not tested this flash off camera with the SL3. IT DOES NOT WORK WITH THE SL3 ON CAMERA.
I love the easy to use features of this flash, everything you need at a touch of a button, I use it constantly and make the necessary changes needed without thinking about it, That's how simple it is to use, The Lithium Battery on this flash is Amazing, I've shot all day with it and still have...
The quick release lever that keeps the flash tightly attached to the camera hot shoe has no locking mechanism. That means if the flash experiences any bumps or movement at all it comes loose.
I haven??t use it yet, but it seem??s easy to do. That??s why I can??t rate 5 stars
